We are seeking a Lead Data Engineer proficient in developing and managing a Microsoft Azure cloud data platform. You will create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture, assemble large complex data sets, build analytics tools, work closely with stakeholders, and facilitate cross-team communication to ensure seamless coordination.

This opportunity requires the candidate to be on-site in our Fort Lauderdale office.


Your future duties and responsibilities
• Responsible for the development and management of a Microsoft Azure cloud data platform leveraging Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Factory
• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
• Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics
• Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
• Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader
• Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
• Create and maintain the current and target state data integration flows
• Perform Data and Gap Analysis as required for discovery, feasibility and ad-hoc project needs
• Develop an understanding of business processes and the system architecture sufficiently to determine source system of required data and impacted integration(s)
• Participate in architectural discussions with data delivery impacts and contribute to the assessment of solution alternatives
• Effectively communicate the technical data integration requirements, design and decisions that support the functional needs of Data Engineering to applicable parties both verbally and through documentation Ensure cross-team communication and coordination of data requirements that impact or span across multiple Data Engineering workstreams
• Responsible for the creation and maintenance of project data integration deliverables including data mappings and data profiling Ensure field-level data requirements are properly captured to support business needs and enhancements Ensure documentation includes appropriate business rules and facilitates data quality, integrity and harmonization
• Facilitate and lead meetings across teams to mediate data usage questions, refine data requirements and address data quality concerns; participants may include - Source System Owners, Subject Matter Experts, Data Engineering Stakeholders, Product Owners, Project Analysts, Integration Developers, QA members and end users


Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
• Minimum of 5-7 years of data warehousing, data lifecycle management, and computer programming experience
• MS Azure: Azure Data Lake Store, Azure Synapse
• Azure Data Factory/SSIS or related tool
• Business visualization tools, Semantic Layer – Views and Dimensional Modeling – Power BI knowledge is a plus
• Experience in database design and data modeling
• Experience with structured query language (SQL)
• Strong learning orientation and curiosity; comfortable learning new systems/software applications
• Strong analytical thinking skills and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
