Our Growth tribe is seeking an Engineering Team Lead (f/m/d). In this role, you will balance leadership and hands-on development, managing both team dynamics and technical challenges to achieve the company’s product goals. You will be responsible for maintaining the quality of software products by ensuring projects are scoped accurately and delivered efficiently. In your people management capacity, you will work to understand and improve the performance of your team, offering regular performance feedback, fostering a motivating work environment, and guiding professional development.
Your responsibilities
Here are some of the things you’ll be responsible for and doing day to day:
Backend Development: Lead the development of the application, ensuring it aligns with the product requirements and meets performance and usability standards. Proactively provide regular updates on work progress, achievements and challenges to product managers (PMs) and designers.
Team Management: Manage a team of backend and frontend engineers, including task delegation, performance reviews, and career development. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, encouraging innovation, continuous learning, and open communication.
Collaborative Planning: Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications and actionable tasks. Prioritise and plan the engineering roadmap, balancing short-term deliverables with long-term technical goals.
System Architecture & Design: Implement and oversee best practices in testing, continuous integration, and deployment to maintain high code quality and system stability.
About you
We think you’ll need the following experience and qualifications to succeed in the role:
Prior experience leading or managing an engineering team, with a track record of mentoring and developing engineers, fostering a collaborative team environment, and driving team performance.
Ability to work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements, set priorities, and ensure alignment between engineering and business goals.
Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot. Deep understanding of API development, microservices architecture, database design, and system integration.
Strong experience in designing scalable, reliable, and maintainable software systems. Ability to make informed decisions about technology stacks, architecture patterns, and system optimizations.
You are fluent in English.
