Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) TS/SCI with Poly REQUIRED
Position Description
CGI Federal is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to join our team. As an ISSE, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our clients' information systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain security measures that protect against potential threats and vulnerabilities.
This position is located in Chantilly, VA.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement security policies and procedures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems.
Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential security weaknesses.
Design and implement security controls and measures to mitigate identified risks.
Monitor and analyze security events and incidents, and respond to security breaches in a timely manner.
Collaborate with system administrators and network engineers to ensure security best practices are followed during system configurations and deployments.
Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve the security posture of our clients' systems.
Provide guidance and support to development teams on secure coding practices and security-related architecture decisions.
Conduct security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations.
Participate in incident response activities and assist in forensic investigations when necessary.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of network and system security principles, protocols, and technologies.
Experience with security assessment tools and techniques, such as vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.
Familiarity with security frameworks and standards, such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automating security tasks.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification or equivalent.
