The Main Focus of the Role:
The Linux Systems Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the high availability and
performance of Sharpstream’s audio streaming platform. You’ll work on designing,
building, and optimizing our Linux-based infrastructure and automating processes to
help maintain our 99.995% SLA.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement scalable Linux systems using infrastructure as code and
automation tools like Ansible.
Monitor and troubleshoot system performance to maintain high availability and
meet performance targets.
Optimize the TCP/IP stack and tune network systems for maximum efficiency
and throughput.
Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to continuously improve system
performance and reliability.
Participate in the on-call rotation to ensure any system emergencies are swiftly
resolved.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential Skills:
o 3-5 years of experience in Linux systems administration (Debian
preferred).
o Proficiency in automation tools such as Ansible and cloud platforms like
AWS or GCP.
o Strong understanding of network protocols, particularly TCP/IP, and
experience with load balancing (e.g., Nginx, HAProxy).
o Experience in container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes is a
plus.
o Experience with relational databases like MySQL, Galera or BigQuery
o Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently
and collaboratively.
