How will you make an impact in this role?

This is a Full Stack Java Developer role emphasizing building highly scalable non-blocking micro services using enterprise framework based on Vert.x. You will be challenged with identifying innovative ideas and proof of concept to deliver against the existing and future needs of our customers. There are hundreds of opportunities to make your mark on technology and life at American Express. Here’s just some of what you’ll be doing:

  • Taking your place as a core member of an agile team driving the latest development practices
  • Writing code and unit tests, working with API specs and automation
  • Identifying opportunities for adopting new technologies
  • Leading a team of engineers that delivers knowledge management solutions to businesses worldwide

Minimum Qualifications

    • 5+ years of software development experience in a professional environment and/or comparable experience.
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or related experience required; advanced degree
    • Hands - on experience of Languages like Java - J2EE, Spring Boot, Node., JS, React and Redux
    • Significant experience in designing and building Java microservices with VERT.X, SPRING BOOT, with proficiency in Java, REST API & GraphQL
    • Experience with continuous integration/deployment (Jenkins, Maven, XLR, Mockito, SOAPUI, JMeter, OpenShift, Public Cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure), Docker).
    • Must have a deep understanding of API components like Circuit Breakers, Service discovery patterns, and horizontally scalable services.
    • Must be aware or worked on distributed log analytics like Splunk
    • Good to have if hands-on experience with any open source BPM frameworks such as Camunda, JBPM, Activiti etc,
    • Ability to effectively communicate to internal and external business partners on architecture and solution design
