It’s an exciting time to join the team here at AXA, with significant investment planned in all UK&I businesses to transform and deliver new digital services to our customers and streamline and automate our business processes. As a Platform Engineer, you’ll deliver cloud platform solutions to enable, support and power our Cloud journey. You’ll implement guardrails and define and support adoption patterns and best practice across our cloud solutions.

You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, either at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. What you’ll be doing:
- Develop and support solutions to manage and automate our development, test, and production cloud environments
- Provide systems design, administration and build support to development teams
- Undertake performance testing and postproduction monitoring
- Provide pro-active capacity management and scaling
- Ensure components are developed in line with target architecture both from an application design and infrastructure or cloud platform perspective
- Identify opportunities for improving methods, processes, and use of toolsets
- Demonstrate innovation through prototyping and proof of concept work
- Identify opportunities to automate common processes and implement automation tooling to drive efficiency
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience as a platform or Azure engineer
- Experience in Agile or Scrum methodology
- Knowledge of automation tools and continuous delivery techniques with the ability to implement these into new environments
- Experience of writing and deploying Infrastructure as Code
- Passion for quality development practices
- Proficient with Microsoft Azure services
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure DevOps CI/CD practices
- Ability to use automation technology such as ARM, BiCep, Terraform and PowerShell
- FinOps.org certified is desirable
