·         Lead and inspire a team of software asset management professionals, providing strategic direction and support to drive transformative initiatives that reduce costs, improve efficiency, and build strong partnerships with suppliers and vendors.

·         Develop and implement software asset management policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and industry best practices, with a specific focus on promoting SAM governance and importance within the organisation. This includes advocating for the value of SAM, raising awareness of compliance risks, and driving a culture of accountability and responsibility for software assets.

·         Collaborate with IT, procurement, and finance teams to track software usage, costs, and compliance, and to identify opportunities for cost optimisation, productivity enhancements, and partnering opportunities with suppliers and vendors through effective stakeholder engagement. Additionally, champion the development of sustainable and efficient SAM processes that align with the organisation's strategic objectives.

·         Establish and maintain relationships with software vendors and other external stakeholders to negotiate favourable terms, drive software transformation, and identify partnering opportunities that align with organisational objectives. This includes exploring innovative licensing models, strategic alliances, and joint development opportunities, while promoting effective demand management practices to optimise software usage and costs.

·         Act as a key influencer and negotiator in software procurement and vendor management, leveraging relationships with suppliers and vendors to drive cost efficiencies, secure favourable terms, and identify opportunities for strategic partnerships that benefit the organisation. This involves promoting effective demand management practices to optimise software usage and costs, and advocating for sustainable and efficient SAM processes.

·         Conduct regular audits to ensure software license compliance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and drive software transformation initiatives that enhance efficiency, productivity, and partnering opportunities with suppliers and vendors, presenting findings to senior management. Additionally, champion the development of sustainable and efficient SAM processes that align with the organisation's strategic objectives.

·         Provide strategic guidance on software asset management tools and technologies, evaluating and implementing solutions to drive transformative change, improve efficiency, and identify partnering opportunities with suppliers and vendors. This includes exploring innovative technologies and solutions that align with the organisation's strategic objectives, while promoting effective demand management practices to optimise software usage and costs.

 

  • Proven experience in software asset management or related field, with a strong understanding of software licensing models and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in building relationships with stakeholders to influence outcomes and identify partnering opportunities with suppliers and vendors.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and stakeholder engagement skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) or Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM)
  • 2+ years experience utilizing SAM Pro
