Role Overview

As an Azure Data Architect, you will lead the design and delivery of end-to-end Azure-based data architectures across enterprise client programmes.

You will define data strategies, design scalable models and pipelines, and ensure all solutions meet governance, security, and performance standards.

You will also influence cloud strategy, support pre-sales activities, and help grow data architecture capability across teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead enterprise data architecture strategies aligned to business outcomes
  • Design and deliver Azure data solutions using services such as Azure SQL, Data Factory, Data Lake, Cosmos DB, and Power BI
  • Build and optimise scalable data models, pipelines, and performance
  • Ensure data governance, security, and compliance standards are met
  • Implement DevOps practices for data engineering, including CI/CD pipelines
  • Collaborate with stakeholders through workshops and architectural governance
  • Mentor and support data engineers and architects
  • Contribute to proposals, innovation initiatives, and cloud roadmaps

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Data Architect in enterprise environments
  • Strong knowledge of data modelling and database design principles
  • Hands-on experience with Azure data services (SQL Database, Data Factory, Data Lake, Cosmos DB, Power BI)
  • Experience designing scalable and high-performance data architectures
  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in Azure
  • Knowledge of Azure deployment models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and IAM concepts
  • Experience working with delivery teams and influencing technical direction

Desirable Skills

  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Data Engineer Associate certification
  • Azure Data Scientist or Azure AI Engineer Associate certification
  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
