All about Huel.
Well first things first, we’re going to bust some myth's that you may have heard! Huel is often referred to as a ‘meal replacement’ or a ‘protein shake’ for gym goers and dieters, but that’s not *technically* correct. Whilst Huel can be used to help you achieve those things, Huel is so much more than this. We're a food brand. And one that loves the planet too.
We offer nutritionally complete meals that are a solution to some of the world's most challenging problems. We are here as the future of food, and we are here to change the way people think about it!
Huel was founded by Julian Hearn back in 2015 in the small town of Aylesbury in the UK. Fast forward 6 years and we are now sold in over 150 countries worldwide with 3 offices in the UK and 1 in NYC!
2021 was one of our most successful years so far. We reached sales of over £100m and we grew by 43%! We almost doubled our headcount from 110 to over 200 employees, and we launched a number of innovative products, including our delicious plant-based Mac & Cheeze, and our new Protein Bars!
We're super proud of what we've achieved in just over 6 years and we have no plans to slow down. We've got an About Us page that explains in lots more detail exactly who we are, why Huel was started, and how we're changing the game, but for now, we think we’ve said enough!

Here at Huel we work with bleeding edge technologies to deliver an exceptional online experience to our Hueligans all over the world. We’re only six years old so there’s no monolithic systems here, just a fresh outlook and new perspective.
We like a challenge and we push ourselves to build applications in modern web technologies. We invest time in greenfield projects, not in updating archaic legacy systems. Think typescript, DevOps, severless. Have we got you excited yet?
We test, we learn, we deliver. There’s no hierarchy here, so if you have an idea, we want to hear it whether that’s during a weekly sprint review or over a game of office ping pong, and if we like it we won't take years to implement it.
We don’t expect you to know everything. We are just keen for individuals who are enthusiastic about digital and have a desire to learn. Our environment is for growing, as an individual and as a team. We invest in making us better at what we do. And we do the best, not the minimum. As a result, we have a robust system that is built with strong foundations.
Our Culture
We are a collection of ambitious people. Our environment and aspirations are more fast-paced than most businesses, and our team have initiative. They spot problems, fix them and move on. Resilience, working hard and being rigorous helps us keep up the pace.

Life in our Engineering Office
Our Birmingham office plays home to our Engineering team. Set in the heart of Birmingham's buzzing creative and digital district, we opened our brand new office doors in Digbeth, in July 2021.
Sitting within the Custard Factory, we wanted to make this a cool space where our Engineers can take a well earned break from coding, so we kitted out the office with ping-pong tables and arcade machines too!
Birmingham Moor Street is a short 10 minute walk from our office, or Birmingham New Street can be reached in less than 15. Parking can be available onsite if needed and your furry friends are also more than welcome to join us!
