About Us

Our strategy is centred around our purpose, driving sustainable growth through our strategic priorities. We are a relationship bank for a digital world, so to make our banking better for our customers we need experienced technology, digital and data professionals to design, build and analyse the systems they use every day.

We want people, families, and businesses to thrive, and that includes you. That’s why you’ll have access to all the latest tools as well as dedicated support, learning and extensive benefits.

We have dozens of rich and varied technology, digital and data careers to choose from.

Wherever your interests and talents lie we have the perfect role to help you grow in a supportive, learning-focused environment.

We champion potential

By championing potential, we can make a meaningful impact in our customers’ lives and equip them to play a positive part in the economy and environment.

We give our people the tools and knowledge that let them take control of their learning, and their career development. By understanding the needs of our colleagues, we attract even more great people to work here.

We hire the best people for the position on offer. Regardless of gender, race, culture, creed or physical abilities. And we always will.

Ethnically Diverse

It’s important that the diversity of our team reflects the diversity of our customers. It helps us to have greater empathy with them and a deeper understanding of their needs.

Here’s some of the ways we’re working to be ethnically diverse:

o Race at Work Charter: We’re founding signatories of the UK government’s Race at Work Charter to tackle ethnic disparity in the workplace.

o Recognised for Diversity: We’ve been recognised by Business in the Community and Investing in Ethnicity for our efforts to improve our diversity.

o Mentoring and Development: We’ve built external partnerships to help with mentoring, future leader and senior leader development.

o Diverse shortlists and panel: We’ve put in place measures to encourage non-white and female representation at interview.

Gender Balanced

We recognise the value of a gender balanced team. It’s vital to our success to make sure everyone has the encouragement, inspiration and opportunity to take their career with us as far as they want to. That’s why we’re working towards a target of having women in 50% of our top-level leadership roles by 2030.

Here’s some of the ways we’re addressing gender balance:

o Women in Finance Charter: We’re committed to the UK government’s charter to support gender balance across financial services.

o STEM Scholarships: At four universities in the UK and India we’re providing scholarships for females studying STEM subjects.

o Open and encouraging: We’ve been recognised by Bloomberg’s Gender Equality Index and The Times as a Top 50 Employer for Women.

LGBT Innovative

Our goal is to deliver a better LGBT+ colleague and customer experience by continuously challenging the status quo. With insight, education and support we are working towards being an LGBT+ employer of choice.

Disability Smart

To build an inclusive bank, we’re positively addressing the needs of disabled colleagues and candidates and we’re proud to be accredited with a Gold rating from the Business Disability Forum, meaning we’re in the top 1% of UK organisations for disability performance.

Socio Economic Diversity

We work hard to make sure that everyone who works for us has the same opportunities to grow their careers, regardless of their socio-economic background. We provide Sponsorship,

Mentoring and development opportunities to grow careers and develop our colleagues, no matter what their background might be.

Our Remote Working Policy

Remote working policy image 1

We’re building a relationship bank for a digital age. Our customers expect to be able to interact with us in person, or by using technology.

That freedom carries on to our colleagues. We offer different types of working arrangements to allow the best collaboration, and to give flexibility where it’s needed.

Some of these arrangements depend on the type of job you do, and some of them depend on you and the type of flexibility you need.

With the range of jobs in our business, there’s no such thing as one-size-fits all. So we’ve developed a simple framework with three categories:

o Remote first

o Hybrid

o Office first

Speak to your hiring manager to find out which one fits the job you’re applying to.

Our Interview Process

STEP ONE

Online Assessment

For selected technical, digital or data roles, we’ll look for you to complete an online test to assess your technical knowledge and skills required for the role.

STEP TWO

Interview

Once you’ve passed any assessments at the last stage, we’ll look at your experience and your skills to see how well they match to the job. If we agree that you’re a good fit, we’ll invite you to an interview.

STEP THREE

Offer

We’ll let you know our decision as soon as possible after your interview. If we make you an offer a recruiter will be in touch to talk you through everything you need to know.
