We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Sr Vice President, Group Delivery Lead/ Release Train Engineer (RTE) to join our EQUITIES BUSINESS as part of CAPITAL MARKETS team. This role is in New York, NY.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Delivery Leader, with a Business Analyst / Project Manager background, to manage and drive business expansion. Working closely with trading, product and other stakeholders to manage, design and build a state-of-the-art platform, in support of our new global growth mandate.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: 

  • Work closely with Equities front office on strategic priorities alignment globally
  • Manage the Equities book of work and dependencies
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering to design, architect and implement business process workflows
  • Assist with requirements gathering and documentation on both tactical and strategic projects
  • The RTE acts as the Chief Scrum Master for an Agile Release Train
  • Facilitates and manages the agile Release train for a value stream within a Product / Platform, including quality, delivery coordination, and PI planning on a Product / Platform level 
  • Facilitate PI planning readiness by fostering the preparation of backlogs and Pre and Post PI planning meetings for a Product / Platform, using agile management tools
  • Oversee the ceremonies, demos, and backlog releases of Release train pods within a Product / Platform to successfully release a program increment 
  • Coordinate across the Product / Platform Manager, Product Owners, and other value stream stakeholders to ensure strategic and execution alignment 
  • Lead continuous process improvement workshops at the end of each PI to reflect and identify improvement backlog items (Inspect & Adapt); drive the improvement opportunities identified through each workshop 
  • Escalate impediments to the Solution Train Engineer (STE) and help to manage risks, dependencies, and issue resolution
  • Aggregate pod objectives into program PI objectives and milestones to share with the STE for visibility and transparency 
  • Collaborate with the Agile Coach to instill agile management practices and ideologies, particularly for Scrum Masters and Product Owners.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following: 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
  • 10 plus years of experience overall.
  • Subject matter expert in Equities product and end to end trade execution workflows.
  • Experience working in front office space with trading and product teams
  • Proficient in creating Business Requirements Documents, Functional Requirements Documents, Process Flows, Epics & User Stories, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including Traders, Management, Researchers, Software Engineers, Vendors, Operations, etc.
  • Experience with agile management and delivery, including coordinating teams and leveraging agile tools
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills 
  • Effective coach, collaborator, and Problem-solving skills
  • Passion for changing status quo and driving out-of-the-box ideas
  • Eagerness to ‘roll up the sleeves’ in execution and learning; pushes the team to do the same
  • Desire to create positive team experiences and collaborative environment

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $102,000 and $228,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. 


This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
