Job summary:
As an Executive Director in the HR Chief Data Office, you will lead data risk management operations within our Data and Analytics Team. You will play a key role in maturing our data governance practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving automation for process improvement. You will work closely with business and technology partners to manage data risks and enhance data quality, while fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture. Your leadership will help us deliver innovative solutions and support our strategic objectives.
Job Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and develop teams to foster a culture of accountability and data risk awareness.
• Execute data risk management strategy and deliver initiatives aligned with business and regulatory goals.
• Implement data governance frameworks and ensure compliance with policies for data quality, retention, destruction, protection, storage, and lifecycle management.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate data-related risks across legacy and emerging technologies.
• Strengthen controls by collaborating with technology and business teams, especially in cloud and data lake environments.
• Drive process uplift and deliver automation to streamline data quality issue management and metrics tracking.
• Uplift SOPs, procedures, and frameworks to enable compliance with firmwide standards and corporate objectives.
• Report concise updates and actionable insights to executive management and governance bodies.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
Minimum 10 years of experience in data risk management, data governance, or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience implementing and enforcing data policies and controls for data quality, retention, destruction, protection, and storage.
• Experience managing data risk and governance in cloud and data lake environments.
• Proven ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and drive resolution through automation.
• Experience managing teams and leading execution in a cross-functional environment.
• Demonstrated ability to generate buy-in across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Experience managing to metrics and delivering measurable results.
Preferred Qualifications
5 years in financial services, specifically in controls, risk management, compliance, or internal audit.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with regulatory requirements related to data management (such as GDPR, CCPA, GLBA).
• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms and technologies (such as AWS, Databricks).
