What you will do
As an Engineer 2 on the DevX Platforms Cloud Native Application Platform (CNAP) Engineering and Product Delivery team, you will join a team of platform engineers in the daily engineering and feature delivery functions of the team’s Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes-based platforms. Responsibilities include building, automating and delivery of new features on modern, multi-cloud application platforms using technologies such as Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes. Our team enriches these platforms by layering on easy-to-consume services such as load balancing, persistent storage, metrics and telemetry, messaging, CI/CD, and data services. We remove infrastructure bottlenecks, such as submitting request tickets, by automating everything. You will partner with the CNAP Operations teams on roadmap items and work with cross-functional teams such as Developers, Cloud, and Cybersecurity to ensure business outcomes are met.
Responsibilities
Actively participate on a DevOps Platform team to run and engineer Comcast’s Cloud Native Application Platforms (CNAP) built on open source Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes.
Develop and enhance the platforms using open source technology through automation, employing open source software and interacting with APIs.
Harvest and visualize metrics; monitor health, performance, and capacity of our platforms and services and perform appropriate capacity planning.
Provide excellent customer service to existing customers and act as a product evangelist for prospective customers.
Partner with the CNAP Operations teams to operate product roadmap items that bring new features, reliability, and stability to our platforms.
Work with the Development and Applications teams in TPX to ensure their code is running effectively, efficiently, and securely on our platforms.
Work with cross-functional teams such as the Cloud and Cybersecurity teams to ensure infrastructure as a service (IaaS) capacity is properly managed and the platform is operating in a secure fashion.
Participate in regular scrum/iteration planning and backlog grooming sessions.
Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work variable schedule as necessary.

What you will bring
Proficient in Linux environments, with solid command-line skills.
Working knowledge of private and public cloud IaaS (e.g., vSphere, AWS) and PaaS (e.g., Cloud Foundry), as well as practical experience with container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
Demonstrated ability to support application modernization and migration efforts to cloud platforms.
Proven experience in utilizing open-source software to deliver tangible business outcomes.
Solid understanding and applied knowledge of cloud-native, 12-factor application design principles, including refactoring applications for containerization.
Practical experience with DevOps tooling such as Terraform and Concourse CI/CD, contributing to automation and delivery pipelines.
Demonstrated experience developing software in at least one language such as Java, Python, or GoLang.
Enthusiastic self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, a clear history of executing and delivering tasks, and developing business acumen.
Proficient in agile methodologies, actively participating in agile development practices using platforms like Jira.
Effective working independently and collaboratively in team environments, both onsite and virtual.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively adjust messaging to diverse audiences.
Relevant experience demonstrating a progression of technical skills beyond entry-level roles.
