Join us as an "AI Enablement – Full Stack Developer” at Barclays. within the IB Analytics team at Barclays. The role owner will be responsible for the design, development, and deployment of endtoend full stack applications powered by Machine Learning and Generative AI for the Investment Banking business.

To be a successful “AI Enablement – Full Stack Developer" will be on building scalable, production grade ML/GenAI applications, covering: Python based backend services, Frontend user interfaces for AIdriven workflow, Cloudnative deployment on Azure and Integration with enterprise IB technology platforms.

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as you will work closely with data scientists, quants, ML engineers, and business stakeholders to operationalize AI models into robust, secure, and userfriendly applications. You will be part of an agile, global team driving AI adoption across multiple Investment Banking use cases. 

Basic/ Essential Qualifications:

  • Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications that embed ML and Generative AI capabilities into Investment Banking workflows. 
  • Translate AI/ML models (including LLMbased solutions) into scalable backend services and APIs. 
  • Build responsive, intuitive frontend interfaces for AIenabled products and internal tools. 
  • Develop and consume RESTful / async APIs to integrate AI services with upstream and downstream systems. 
  • Implement cloudnative deployments on Azure, including containerized services and CI/CD pipelines. 
  • Collaborate with data scientists and quants to productionize models, ensuring performance, reliability, security, and monitoring. 
  • Work across the full software development lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment, and support. 
  • Navigate and debug complex, interdependent enterprise systems to identify and resolve issues. 
  • Ensure all deliverables comply with regulatory requirements, internal risk frameworks, and engineering standards. 

Desirable skillsets/ good to have:

  • Strong handson experience with Python for backend and AIdriven application development. 
  • Proven experience building full stack applications in an ML / GenAI context. 
  • Experience integrating ML models and/or LLMbased components into production systems. 
  • Solid understanding of backend frameworks (e.g., FastAPI) and API design. 
  • Working knowledge of frontend development using modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or similar. 
  • Strong working knowledge of Git and modern versioncontrol practices. 
  • Experience with cloud platforms, with a strong preference for Microsoft Azure. 
  • Sound understanding of databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) and data access patterns. 
  • Experience working in agile, globally distributed teams. 
  • Ability to work independently with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. 
  • Bachelor degree in a quantitative or technical discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics). 
  • Handson experience with Azure AI services, Azure ML, Azure App Services, or AKS. 
  • Exposure to LLM frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, semantic orchestration patterns). 
  • Understanding of model serving, inference optimization, and prompt engineering. 
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes). 
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions). 
  • Familiarity with enterprisegrade monitoring, logging, and observability tools. 
  • Awareness of security best practices for AI applications (authentication, authorization, data privacy). 
  • Prior experience working on frontoffice or investment banking technology platforms is a plus.

This role will be based out of Gurugram.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop, implement, and support mathematical, statistical, and machine learning models and analytics used in business decision-making

Accountabilities

  • Design analytics and modelling solutions to complex business problems using domain expertise.
  • Collaboration with technology to specify any dependencies required for analytical solutions, such as data, development environments and tools.
  • Development of high performing, comprehensively documented analytics and modelling solutions, demonstrating their efficacy to business users and independent validation teams.
  • Implementation of analytics and models in accurate, stable, well-tested software and work with technology to operationalise them.
  • Provision of ongoing support for the continued effectiveness of analytics and modelling solutions to users.
  • Demonstrate conformance to all Barclays Enterprise Risk Management Policies, particularly Model Risk Policy.
  • Ensure all development activities are undertaken within the defined control environment.
