As a Senior Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology, you lead multiple technical areas, manage the activities of multiple departments, and collaborate across technical domains. Your expertise is applied cross-functionally to drive the adoption and implementation of technical methods within various teams and aid the firm in remaining at the forefront of industry trends, best practices, and technological advances.

In this high-impact leadership role, you will set the vision and lead an agile engineering organization to design and scale IoT and smart building platforms that elevate the employee experience, improve energy efficiency, and enable data-driven decisions across our global real estate footprint. You’ll partner with cross-functional stakeholders, vendors, and industry leaders to deliver secure, resilient solutions—leveraging the latest in IoT, AI, cloud, and edge computing to shape the future of work through seamless access, personalized environments, predictive maintenance, and sustainability initiatives.

Job responsibilities

  • Advises and leads on the strategy and development of multiple products, applications, and technologies across a portfolio
  • Creates novel code solutions and drives the development of new production code capabilities across teams and functions
  • Translates highly complex technical issues, trends, and approaches to leadership to drive the firm’s innovation and enable leaders to make strategic, well-informed decisions about technology advancements
  • Drives adoption and implementation of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies
  • Creates durable, reusable software frameworks that are leveraged across teams and functions
  • Influences across business, product, and technology teams and successfully manages senior stakeholder relationships
  • Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition,  5+ year  of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise and more broadly across the organization
  • Proven experience in developing or leading large or cross-functional teams of technologists, particularly within the Real Estate/ Workplace technology sectors.
  • Experience managing technology teams working with Big Data technologies (Spark, Databricks), Cloud Infrastructure(AWS, Azure), UI (React) development, and Java programming.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across highly matrixed, complex organizations and deliver value at scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a variety of vendor partner engagements at scale with complex firm integrations
  • Extensive experience in leading complex projects that support system design, testing, and operational stability, specifically in Real Estate, IOT, Smart Building systems.
  • Strong track record in hiring, developing, and recognizing talent within technology teams.
  • Extensive practical experience with cloud-native technologies and modern software development practices, managing multiple agile development teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Experience in demonstrated technology implementations with the application of AI capabilities

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Extensive Leadership experience  in engineering leadership roles, with proven success managing large, cross-functional teams in IoT and real estate technology environments.
  • IoT Expertise: Deep understanding of IoT architectures, protocols, device management, and security best practices.
  • Real Estate Technology Knowledge: Experience with smart building systems, property management platforms, and integration of IoT solutions in commercial and residential real estate.
  • Strategic Vision: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute technology roadmaps aligned with business goals and emerging industry trends.
  • Product Development: Track record of delivering scalable, reliable, and secure IoT products from concept to launch, including cloud integration and edge computing.
  • Vendor & Partner Management: Experience negotiating and managing relationships with technology vendors, solution integrators, and real estate partners.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Strong skills in budgeting, resource allocation, and optimizing engineering operations for efficiency and innovation.
