Job Title: SENIOR BUSINESS PERFORMANCE MANAGER

The purpose of the Senior Business Performance Manager role is to provide expert support and assistance in providing cost management, operational efficiency and value-added advice and services. The role will be dynamic and will require the candidate to be able to handle multiple, evolving tasks as required. The role holder will be expected to drive cost initiatives through to completion, working through complex issues with minimal supervision.

In this role, you will:

  • Responsibility for working with teams across Wealth & Premier Solutions (WPS), Finance, Operations, WPS COO, and Retail Banking to create, submit and track against cost plans as part of the FRP process and ensuring accurate forecasts against plan are maintained on an ongoing basis through the financial year.
  • Complete the Annual FRP process for costs with thoroughness and appropriate scrutiny. Document all assumptions and obtain signoffs from key stakeholders to ensure the process runs smoothly and reflects business changes.
  • Complete required deep dive analysis on cost lines / themes to enable the identification of potential cost saving opportunities and / or improve transparency and understanding of WPS & Retail Banking cost base for both Direct and Indirect costs.
  • Manage and implement robust controls for Cost and FTE management.
  • Assist leadership with cost efficiency projects, including headcount and finance issues in collaboration with the WPS Finance team, as well as Organisational Design reviews.
  • Lead and manage Senior Cost Governance forums in WPS and attend as delegate to Global Senior Cost forums in WPS as required.
  • Maintain, implement and/or improve cost control processes.
  • Support coordination of Business Management and other functions as well as maintain organizational design charts reflecting departmental structure correctly.
  • Supporting MI production, data cleansing, optimization of processes and team structures; and producing high quality client-ready visual outputs / PPT materials.
  • Accountability for managing Wealth & Premier Solutions (WPS) & Retail Banking headcount to within the Full Time Employee/Equivalent plan and supporting in maintaining Full Time Employee/Equivalent costs.
  • Support FTE reporting by establishing a seamless weekly FTE review process.
  • Support CAO leadership WPS on cost, headcount, and finance matters in partnership with the WPS Finance team. Proactively resolving any incorrect bookings in the ledger by working closely with finance and COO counterparts.
  • Participate in meetings and escalate any issues/Challenges in a timely manner and propose solutions where required. Support on Cost efficiency projects and CTA Programme cost reporting & saves tracking. Interact with senior management confidently on a variety of topics.

To be successful you will:

  • University degree or higher.
  • Minimum 15+ years’ relevant experience in cost management, financial analysis, trend analysis, and quantitative analysis as well as business management in a strategy consulting firm or leading global/regional financial institution. Managing complex financial processes, like the annual budget cycle, is essential.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills (written and oral) as well as energetic, positive attitude and a team player.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to deliver senior management-ready, high-quality materials.
  • Sharp business and commercial acumen, management of financials, ability to make and influence strategic decisions.
  • Experience with Organizational Design principles such as Span of Control, Layers, Matrix Reporting, etc.
  • Strong understanding of Direct and Indirect Costs.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills are a must.
  • Proficiency in Anaplan and Fusion is desirable but not mandatory. The ability to create automated dashboards and reports for cost and FTE analysis is crucial. Must be comfortable in presenting high-quality financial information to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and very good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work alone, independently drive initiatives or as part of a team, as required
  • Effective strategic thinking and problem-solving ability (critical analytical thinking)
  • Results-oriented; ability to deliver within deadlines by working independently and able to work in a small team with a flat structure.
  • Ability to identify, manage and mitigate risk effectively.

  • The role holder will communicate regularly with global and regional teams.
  • WPS BM Team needs to ensure processes implemented are robust, transparent, and fit for purpose will be crucial in enabling the success of the team.
  • Continual development is required by the role holders in understanding of a complex global business and changing regulatory environment.
  • Continual need to improve in-depth understanding of operational process/procedures and systems needed to support WPS’s complex product and service offering.
