JOB DESCRIPTION

We have an exciting opportunity for you to lead data strategy and governance within Deposit 2.0 team, driving impactful business outcomes.

As a Data Owner Lead within the Deposit 2.0 team, you enable innovation through strategic data use while ensuring data quality and protection. You will coordinate data sourcing and usage across domains and serve as a member of the Product leadership team. The Data Owner serves as a member of the product team, collaborating with the Product Owner, design lead, and technology lead to ensure that the product delivers data in a manner consistent with the quality and safety requirements of the business.

Job responsibilities

  • Create plans for developing and delivering product data to support strategic objectives, operations, analytics, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with key partners to drive understanding of data and its business use.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on product data content and usage within the business area.
  • Identify and document the scope, meaning, purpose, and classification of critical product data with appropriate metadata.
  • Support Data & Analytics leads by identifying data needed for integration into analytics platforms for projects.
  • Document and coordinate requirements for data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Influence resources to resolve data issues promptly.
  • Develop processes to identify, monitor, and mitigate data risks, including protection, retention, destruction, storage, use, and quality.
  • Manage tasks to comply with firmwide policies, standards, and procedures for data integrity and protection.
  • Build relationships with product data delivery partners and consumers, including leaders in Business, Technology, Analytics, Operations, Risk, and Control.
  • Track and manage milestones, risks, bottlenecks, workstreams, KPIs, and staff to ensure successful data-related deliveries.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience with least 6+ years in a data-related field.
  • Experience in leading platform transformation from legacy systems to microservices architecture, specifically for critical projects.
  • Expertise in data modernization, platform enhancement, and data governance, with strong technical knowledge of data management, big data platforms, and data architecture.
  • Deep understanding of Snowflake, Databricks, SQL, and AWS.
  • Demonstrated ownership and accountability in managing complex initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaborative skills and proven ability to execute through internal partnerships.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, with capacity to convey technical concepts to senior audiences.
  • Ability to manage delivery across multiple workstreams with varying timelines.
  • Subject matter expertise in business or product data, processes, and technical data management.
  • Structured thinker with solid business acumen and familiarity with Agile development methodology.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree. 
  • Technical knowledge of data engineering, data pipelines, data modeling, and data architecture
