The Developer Experience team is responsible for building the developer portal platform and providing a centre of excellence for all product teams within Sage. This is crucial to Sage’s business plans and long-term objectives. The Full Stack Developer joining this growing team will be responsible for building, enhancing and maintaining this platform.
The Full Stack Developer will develop and deliver high-quality products and/or systems and services that exceed developer’s expectations.
This is a hybrid role – three days per week in our Manchester office.
Key Responsibilities
In this role you'll:
- Possess and apply knowledge of software development to the completion of assignments.
- Successfully develop, delivery maintain high quality software (requirements, design, code, documentation, etc.)
- Work with architects and senior developers on the team.
- Keep up to date with relevant technology areas.
- Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
- Evaluate progress and results and recommends limited changes in procedures.
- Partner effectively with all team members to deliver against commitments
- Mentor and coach graduate members of the development team.
- Show commitment to team success and positive team dynamics
- Demonstrate a passion for growing and applying technical skills in service to customers
- Demonstrate experience of Agile Development
- Maintain relevant documentation to describe logic, coding/configuration, testing and changes where applicable.
- Ensure all tasks are completed to the required quality standards.
- Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools & techniques
- Provide 3rd tier support and/or expertise for the area of responsibility
Must-Have Skills:
- Languages: Javascript, React, CSS, Markdown
- Use of GitHub for source control
- Some exposure to AWS services such as S3/ and DynamoDB.
- Understanding of APIs – REST and GraphQL
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Some exposure to: Nextjs, tailwind, Github actions, Docker, AWS CDK and Storybook
- Some experience of working with languages such as Python, C#, Ruby and Java or writing VSCode or Visual Studio extensions would also be an advantage.
