We are looking for a SQL Developer to support and maintain legacy systems in a production environment. This position will be Full-Time and Hybrid for a 3-6 month contract.
Preference to local candidates. Exceptional remote candidates will be considered. This is a 37.5 hour work week.
Only work authorizations not requiring sponsorship now or in the future will be considered.
What You’ll Do
Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, focusing on performance tuning (indexes, execution plans, refactoring)
Maintain and enhance existing code using Classic ASP (VBScript) and support legacy production systems
Perform debugging and troubleshooting of older applications with minimal documentation
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure stability in legacy environments where stability is critical
Work independently to deliver safe, incremental improvements to systems with limited documentation
Support vendor-provided applications and coordinate with third-party applications as needed
What You'll Need
Required:
5+ years of SQL Server development (T-SQL) experience
5+ years of experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries
3+ years of experience with performance tuning, including indexes, execution plans, and refactoring
3+ years of experience developing stored procedures, views, and troubleshooting production issues
3+ years of Classic ASP (VBScript) development experience, including ADO, session management, and request/response lifecycle
Proven experience debugging older, minimally documented applications
3+ years of experience supporting legacy production systems and applications, including vendor-provided systems
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently in environments focused on stability and safe improvements
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
Experience supporting or coordinating with third-party/vendor applications
Basic knowledge of IIS and Windows hosting (app pools, permissions, deployments)
Familiarity with modernization patterns (helpful for context, but not required to implement)
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
Must be able to communicate with customers/team members over the phone and in person
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

$55.00 - $59.00The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access.
