Why this job matters

As the Fiinancial Planning & Analysis Manager, Planning, you will play a pivotal role in consolidating, challenging and communicating the Consumer Financial budget and outlook. You’ll ensure the CFU sets stretching yet achievable targets that accurately measure business performance on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. This role sits at the heart of financial planning, providing clarity, insight and challenge to drive informed decisions across the Consumer organisation. Effective budgeting is critical to aligning teams, engaging stakeholders and ensuring every part of the business is working towards the same shared goals.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead on the end-to-end budgeting process for Consumer, adhering to a Group timetable including preparation and submission of planning deliverables and alignment with Group Finance
  • Leading on the preparation of the primary Consumer budget pack including commercial analysis, coherent drivers of trends and variances and presentation to senior management
  • Lead the monthly flash process, maintaining a high degree of control over the end-to-end process and presenting to CFO and senior management
  • Challenge and critique the Commercial Finance teams to ensure forecast submissions are well understood and variances to expectation can be explained
  • Clearly articulate budget trends/variances, KPIs and drivers to senior management 
  • Managing the submission of the annual Budget load into SAP, including subsequent Budget overlays (liaising with other LoBs and Group Finance)
  • Managing the submission of the monthly Outlook load into the Value Driver Tree (VDT) planning system
  • Adopt and encourage others to take a ‘SAP First’ mentality and drive better use of new tools such as SAC and AI
  • Support delivery of improvements to the financial systems that drive forward the quality of our outputs

  • Qualified Accountant (Essential)
  • Ability to work with detailed and accurate models and data, turning large sets of data into something presentable and free of mistakes. (Essential) 
  • Ability to tailor messages to relevant audiences, distilling key messages without losing appropriate detail, including senior stakeholders. (Essential) 
  • Strong finance expertise across multiple activities, policies and best‑practice processes
  • Strong relationship‑building, credibility and stakeholder engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and implement change
