AI GTM Lead UK&I (Public Sector)

This is a fast-paced area, so you will need to be continuously learning, be self-driven and think creatively about solving client problems. You will work with others to reflect back the views of our clients and potential clients and help to continuously shape our go to market approach. You will be predominantly working with our existing clients to help them move faster with AI, rather than hunting for new leads but a growth mindset is essential to this type of work. The pace of change reflects how we are organised and the successful candidate will be comfortable working with ambiguity. You will contribute to the evolution of our global AI offerings and a regular update is expected to be the new normal.

While you will have a personal sales target, the whole of the company is aligned around an overall AI target; we play a team game and are looking for team players.

We would like to expand into Europe from the UK so fluency in Italian or German is an advantage but not a necessity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and execute the AI strategy for public sector in the UK, aligned to NTT DATA’s enterprise AI vision.
• Build AI-native offerings and solutions tailored to public-sector-specific client needs and operating models.
• Embed AI across existing client offerings and into how clients operate, enabling scaled adoption.
• Serve as the executive AI leader for public sector, engaging senior client stakeholders, building trust and shaping market demand.
• Work with public sector Client Partners and the UK’s Growth Office to originate, structure, and close complex AI engagements.
• Work with technology partners as needed by the opportunity (we have a Partners team, so close liaison with them will be essential)
• Lead presales activities including executive presentations, solution positioning, and proposal development. Towards the end of the sales cycle, liaison with delivery teams is required to ensure successful handover into delivery.
• Ensure responsible AI practices are embedded into all solutions, including transparency, security, governance, and human oversight.

• Keeping track of opportunities and client conversations in our tracking tools, primarily Salesforce

• Extensive experience in consulting, professional services, or industry roles with progressive leadership responsibility. (Experience of software product sales is not enough)
• Experience leading in projects that focus on one or more of the following areas:
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Generative AI
  • AI Agents
  • Machine Learning and Machine Learning Ops
• Detailed knowledge and exposure in the UK Public Sector
• Hands-on experience in presales activities and account leadership
• Ability to travel predominantly in the UK.
• Must hold UK Security Clearance or meet the SC clearance requirements (e.g. 5 years’ residency in the UK).
• Experience developing and executing GTM strategies.
• Deep understanding of Gen AI technologies, ML, and NLP.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Senior-level experience leading AI, data, or digital transformation initiatives within a public sector organisation
• Strong executive presence with the ability to influence C-suite stakeholders.

The AI MD for UK Public Sector is a senior leader responsible for building and scaling AI-native business within the global Public Sector AI team, aligned to NTT DATA’s enterprise AI strategy. By AI-native, we mean solutions where AI is predominant, rather than a supporting feature. This role owns the end-to-end AI lifecycle for the vertical within the UK, spanning market shaping, client engagement, solution commercialisation, and delivery while ensuring all AI solutions are human-centred, trusted, secure, and responsible by design.

This role reports to the AI MD for Public Sector globally and will work in a small team with this common mission, while maintaining close links with the UK in-country team.
