What this role is all about:

As a Business Development Manager, you will be Responsible for the growth and development of the key distributors in the UK Life Insurance market. You will work at a CEO level in order to influence and obtain panel position and market share. You will grow the CSM (Value of new business) and business quality through obtaining a high level of Business metrics. This relates to growing the percentage of new business attributable to Indexation, Serious Illness Cover, Income Protection and Optimiser. You will also grow the Health Business by demonstrating the benefits of expansion into the PMI sector

Key Actions

  • Work at a senior level in the development and business planning with their firms.
  • To understand and influence business, processes, and styles to support quality and growth in Vitality’s market share and achieve sales targets.
  • To work with the Compliance Director and their wider team to ensure that Vitality received optimal position and ‘air time’ within their allocated firms
  • Work with the firm to design and implement processes that drive quality and adherence to the DQM framework
  • Entrepreneurial approach to add value and provide solutions to business and sales problems
  • Maximise use of management information to measure and co-ordinate development and training resources to supporting accounts.
  •  Grow, maintain and embed a strong business and working relationships at all levels with their firms to deliver profitable sales and growth. Keeping the firms fully up to date and engaged in planned campaigned initiatives on time and within the required joint objectives of the accounts.
  • Work closely with our Product Development and Underwriting Teams to support your positioning with Vitality’s propositions across your firms and support any product or process changes and development.
  • Develop joint propositions to target and sell to the firm’s various customer bases, ensuring that business cases are agreed, and all aspects of the initiatives are fully co-ordinated and integrated both with them and internally to maximise cost/value benefit.
  • Structure, plan and deliver product and sales training and coaching bespoke to the individual firms working closely with their training teams to make to get the best results.
  • Manage own skill and knowledge development and share knowledge and expertise with others in the distribution team.
  • Stay up to date on market intelligence and industry news both internally and with our competitors and share findings with the team and the rest of distribution.
  • Take personal responsibility for ensuring compliance and regulatory requirements are met.

  • Demonstrable experience of the UK protection insurance market and in particular have a deep understanding
    of the streamlined provider segment

  • Clean UK Driving Licence
