We’re looking for an experienced technical data Product Manager to help our dynamic New York City-based team of product managers scale to drive value for customers, guide successful launches, and shape the data strategy for a proprietary internal capital markets data platform.

Our team is responsible for sourcing, validating, and publishing broad capital markets data to JP Morgan investment bankers around the world. These bankers are our primary stakeholders – they rely on our data to grow their relationships with capital markets clients and win valuable equity and debt mandates. We also work closely with partners in product, design, and engineering, who help design and implement complementary tools and services.

As a technical data Product Manager in the Capital Markets business, you will be an integral part of the team that innovates new product offerings and leads the end-to-end product life cycle. You will act as the voice of the customer, always prioritizing products that provide measurable value. Utilizing your deep understanding of how to get a product off the ground, you will guide the successful launch of products, gather crucial feedback, and ensure top-tier client experiences. With a strong commitment to scalability, resiliency, and stability, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that exceed customer expectations.

Job Responsibilities

Develop a data product strategy and product vision that delivers value to our capital markets investment banking customers.
Manage discovery efforts and market research to uncover customer solutions and integrate them into the data product roadmap.
Own, maintain, and develop a data product backlog that enables development to support the overall strategic roadmap and value proposition.
Develop strong relationships with investment banking users and stakeholders to drive data product adoption and satisfaction.
Partner with external data vendors to deeply understand their offerings and advocate for desired enhancements.
Lead product development projects from zero to one with Design, Engineering & Controls teams - ensuring detailed user requirement documentation, timely delivery, and quality standards.
Design and catalog logic-driven data models and scalable APIs.
Leverage data-driven insights to make informed decisions and drive continuous product improvement.
Build a deep understanding of advanced analytics and AI/ML capabilities that can be incorporated into product solutions to enhance and accelerate user value.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in technical data product management.
Advanced knowledge of the product development life cycle, design, and data analytics.
Proven ability to independently lead product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management.
A customer-centric mindset and experience building and delivering greenfield products end-to-end.
Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated track record of aligning cross-functional teams and stakeholders on strategic priorities.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to act as an effective translator between business and technology.
Open and transparent working style, with the ability to communicate up and down.
Strong ability to collaborate with engineering teams to translate technical requirements into scalable product solutions.
Strong project management and organizational planning skills to work and stay aligned with cross-functional teams.
Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder technical projects with competing priorities.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Demonstrated prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organization.
Experience as a Product Manager in the financial services, or related, industry.
Understanding of the capital markets domain, financial markets, and industry regulations.
A solid grasp of technical concepts, including software development, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and system architecture.
