JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Product Owner for the Global Bank Data Hub (GBDH), your will be responsible for supporting the development and delivery of business process tools and platform technology solutions that enhance client experience, improve internal efficiency, and leverage data for actionable insights. Operating within an Agile environment, the Product Owner collaborates with product, technology, and platform teams to manage JIRA stories, prioritize work, and ensure initiatives are delivered effectively and in compliance with control standards. The role includes product ownership of platform technology teams, guiding their efforts to achieve key business objectives such as building a unified global banking platform, delivering advanced data products, streamlining data federation, and embedding integrated data management frameworks.

Job Summary

  • Product Backlog Management: Maintain and prioritize the GBDH product backlog in JIRA, ensuring alignment with business needs, control standards, and strategic platform objectives.
  • Platform Team Collaboration: Partner with platform technology teams to define requirements, clarify user stories, and support delivery of scalable, secure, and efficient technology solutions.
  • Sprint Planning: Participate in Sprint planning, backlog refinement, and other Agile ceremonies to support timely and effective delivery.
  • Capacity Tracking: Monitor team capacity and adjust Sprint scope as needed.
  • Quality Assurance: Assist with UAT deliverables and implementation checklists to document changes.
  • Issue Identification: Help identify production bugs and coordinate with stakeholders and technology for resolution.
  • Reporting: Support the creation and distribution of reports on Change Management metrics and KPIs.
  • Communication: Provide updates on impacts and deliverables to geographically diverse teams.
  • Business Objectives Alignment: Guide platform technology teams towards the following business objectives:
    • Unified Global Banking Platform: Support the development of a single, cloud-enabled platform to power global banking business and insights.
    • Data Products: Enable delivery of 19 data products for reporting, analytics, and AI/ML use case generation.
    • Single Version of Truth: Promote common reference and third-party data context for consistent and reliable data.
    • Purpose Enabled Capabilities: Facilitate integration and use of DBx, Snowflake, and Starburst for specialized data capabilities.
    • Streamlined Data Federation: Drive data ingestion and delivery at the speed of business, including BYO data and team, guided intake, data dictionary management, and automated code generation.
    • Integrated Data Management: Embed data governance, definition, and quality frameworks in the operating model; support data use engagement from intake to consumption; enable metadata-driven visibility and entitlements; and ensure inline handling of confidential and restricted data elements.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Agile Experience: Experience as a Product Owner or similar role in an Agile environment.
  • JIRA Skills: Familiarity with JIRA and backlog management.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and platform technology teams.
  • Data Platform Awareness: Some experience or interest in data management, analytics, and cloud technologies (e.g., DBx, Snowflake, Starburst).
  • Data Governance: Understanding of data governance, data quality, and metadata management concepts.
  • Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem Solving: Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Security & Compliance: Awareness of handling confidential and restricted data elements inline with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
