SUMMARY
The Director of Business Development is responsible for new business opportunities, including growth in new dialysis centers and other strategic initiatives in partnership with physicians, health systems and hospitals. This role is responsible for identifying new physician practices for the development of de novo dialysis utilizing U.S. Renal Care's joint venture model. This position also supports the growth of existing dialysis centers in the region and supports the strategic opportunities including dialysis center acquisitions and new growth models for the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties and tasks may be assigned)
- Develop and manage growth initiatives within Satellite Healthcare & U.S. Renal Care in collaboration with the VP of business development and the Regional Operations Team.
- Prepare market analysis and strategic presentations to evaluate new growth opportunities with support of data analysis team.
- Develop and sustain strong relationships with external and internal physicians/health systems/hospitals.
- Identify and create successful joint venture de novo dialysis opportunities with existing and new physician practices.
- Identify and create successful joint venture de novo dialysis opportunities and/or integrated care initiatives with hospitals and other related institutions.
- Develop and execute strategy to support the growth of existing dialysis centers and hospital programs.
- Lead and/or support special projects/initiatives as requested.
- Effectively keep track of action items, with follow up and execution of those specially when related to asks from physician partners, hospitals, and health systems.
- Foster a constant degree of creativity that is anticipating changes in the marketplace and the cascading series of opportunities that these create. Including understanding the challenges competition is facing and converting those into opportunities for our organization.
- Coordinate and schedule regular meetings and cadence with partners with inclusion of right internal and external parties to improve the relationship with partners with deep understanding on how to add value to the meetings.
- Regularly reach out and meet with referring physicians to our dialysis units, medical directors, and less affiliated nephrologists (to Satellite and USRC) in assigned territory/market area.
- Prepare presentations and lead meetings in close collaboration with VP of business development.
- Actively search and participate in the renal industry and healthcare related conferences with the focus on growth and building relationships.
- Effectively communicates; accepts accountability and holds others accountable for assigned actions from collaboration with partners.
- Regular and reliable attendance is required for the job.
Qualifications/Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree in related field required. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience in sales, corporate/business development, consulting, and/or physician consulting required.
- Experience with review of financials preferred.
- Experience with the development of new medical facilities as part of an overall growth strategy is preferred.
- Knowledge of kidney care and/or End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) or similar field is a plus.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and web based tools) required; proficiency in USRC applications required within 90 days of hire.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
