To be successful Salesforce Test Engineer , you should have:
Selenium WebDriver expert with Java and strong OOP fundamentals.
Test frameworks: TestNG/JUnit (or NUnit), Cucumber/BDD (Gherkin) for behavior‑driven suites.
Design patterns: Page Object Model (POM), Page Factory, data‑driven/keyword‑driven frameworks.
CI/CD & SCM: Jenkins/Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions, Maven/Gradle, Git (branching, PRs, code review).
Selectors & synchronization: solid XPath/CSS, explicit/Fluent waits, handling dynamic elements.
API automation: RestAssured (or equivalent), JSON/XML parsing, contract tests.
Test data & environments: data seeding/mocking, environment configuration, secrets handling.
Reporting & observability: Allure/Extent/ReportPortal; logs, screenshots, artifacts for triage.
SDLC/Agile: refined user stories, DoR/DoD, backlog grooming; tools such as Jira/Azure Boards.
Strong debugging, profiling, and failure‑analysis skills for fast triage.
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Playwright or Cypress for modern web/E2E, Selenium Grid/Selenoid for distributed runs.
Cloud test labs: BrowserStack/Sauce Labs; mobile web with Appium exposure.
Performance & security awareness: JMeter/Locust basics, OWASP insights for test design.
Quality governance: quality gates in pipelines, code coverage thresholds, static analysis for test code.
