Data Scientist Lead - Vice President

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Machine Learning Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing AI and machine learning projects within the Operations department. This role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with operational goals. The Project Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams—including data scientists, engineers, business analysts, and operations staff—to drive innovation, efficiency, and process improvement through AI and ML solutions.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocations for AI/ML initiatives.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation across the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to define objectives, deliverables, and success metrics.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams including data scientists, engineers, and business analysts.
• Facilitate clear communication between technical and non-technical team members.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between the Operations Manager and project teams.
• Provide regular updates on progress, risks, dependencies, and outcomes to senior management.
• Leverage analytics to enable smarter business processes and generate actionable insights.
• Identify opportunities to use enterprise data to deliver business solutions across the organization.
• Mine and analyze data to optimize product development and operations strategies.
• Manage delivery from requirements definition through deployment, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk mitigation.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills 

• Demonstrate 10+ years of project management experience in technology-driven environments.
• Apply strong project governance across scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk management.
• Translate AI/ML concepts and lifecycle considerations into clear delivery plans and milestones.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with stakeholders at all levels.
• Analyze complex problems using structured thinking and data-driven decisioning.
• Operate effectively in dynamic environments with tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
• Collaborate successfully within matrixed, cross-functional team structures.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills 

• Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Business, or a related field.
• Bring hands-on experience delivering AI/ML or data programs in Securities Products or similar domains.
• Exhibit a strong control mindset and consistent adherence to high standards of business ethics.
• Think strategically while driving measurable outcomes and alignment to Operations strategic goals.
• Demonstrate a positive “can do” attitude with strong ownership and partnership skills.
• Present confidently with strong storytelling and executive-ready communication skills.
• Adapt to global collaboration needs, including flexibility to work global hours and travel when required.
