About the job

The Data Enablement Services Department comprises key teams, including Data Governance, Metadata Management, Data Quality Management, Customer Master (MDM), and Records Management. Situated within the Data & Analytics community, it is responsible for embedding good data management across the organisation.

The Data Quality team is responsible for ensuring the right information is available to the right people at the right time, by making sure the quality of data is monitored and improved throughout our business.  We proactively monitor key data sources to assess their accuracy and fitness for purpose, while managing data quality issues reported to us from our data community.  We are also responsible for developing data quality rules, creating and managing business and data definitions and providing assurance over reports sent to regulators.

In addition, the Data Quality team applies data & analytics techniques to interrogate large datasets and systems across the EUI data landscape, which enables the DQ team to carry out robust root cause analysis and support targeted remediation efforts.

The Senior Data Quality Analyst supports the Data Governance Manager with a range of managing, coaching, and prioritising the delivery of the team’s work to provide the business with their data management and specifically, data quality needs. You will support the design and implementation our Data Quality strategy, services and framework and drive continuous data quality improvement across the business. You will oversee the provision of proactive data quality recommendations to the business communities and support the team with the creation of data quality enhancement plans. You will develop of suite of KPI’s and insights that support the monitoring, status and resolution of data quality issues and the team’s progress.

Main Duties

  • Apply data analytics techniques to interrogate large datasets and systems across the EUI data landscape.
  • Carry out robust root cause analysis using insights from data interrogation to drive targeted remediation of data quality issues.
  • Design and implement technical data quality and process solutions.
  • Development of new data quality reporting and KPI’s - providing insights of the health of Admiral data.
  • Business As Usual management of Data Quality team, Data Quality services and solutions and Data Management processes.
  • Oversight of Data Quality discovery, profiling and exceptions.
  • Identification and documentation of Data Quality issues.
  • Design, ownership and management of the Data Quality Issues Log and Data Quality Remediation Framework.
  • Development of Data Quality dashboards and reports for various stakeholders.
  • Oversight and maintenance of remediation activities associated with Data Quality issues.
  • Support for Root Cause Analysis and business validation rules repository.
  • Agree and define roles for day-to-day Data Quality operations.
  • Understand the complex regulatory environment and the implementation of robust regulatory controls.
  • Support the delivery of services to assist in the mitigation of Data Quality Risk.

  • Relationship management, for example creating relationships and quickly building trust with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working on own initiative, with the ability to introduce fresh thinking to the role and the wider data community.
  • Qualification such as CDMP Associate or above highly desirable.
