Job Summary and Qualifications

Our Imaging Teams are a committed, caring group of professionals. We are currently seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team on a full-time/part-time/PRN/per diem/as-needed basis. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will perform diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures utilizing radio pharmaceuticals in a careful, compassionate and respectful manner. Tasks and responsibilities as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist may include but are not limited to:

• Use radioactive isotopes to perform organ and body scans
• Prepare radioactive isotopes for administration to patients in accordance with physicians' orders; Administer and record dosages as well
• Perform diagnostic studies on patients using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce image of organ on photographic film
• Position patients and adjust immobilization devices
• Compassionately explain procedures to patients and address concerns
• Demonstrate competency in the following: Biliary, Brain Spect, Bone Scan, Cardiac, Cistern gram, Colonic Bleed, Prostasin, Gallium, Gastric Emptying, GI Bleed, Indium Scan, Liver, MIBG, Octreo scan
• Monitor, record and communicate utilizing computerized documentation (MEDITECH)
• Assist with transporting patients as needed

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED
• Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine Technologist program (AMA-Approved School)
• Current/Active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
• Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist preferred
• Current registry: NMTCB or ARRT (N)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Knowledge of GAMMA cameras
• Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
