Senior Software Engineer

Our workforce rostering solution, Organise, empowers organisations to efficiently build staff rosters, ensuring the right people with the appropriate skills are assigned to the required locations and shifts. This solution, trusted by over 100,000 Emergency Services field workers, enhances the management of timesheets, absence, and sickness, driving increased workforce capacity and efficiency.

We are now embarking on a digital transformation of Organise, migrating the product from on-premises storage to a Cloud-based SaaS model. Alongside this, we will be upgrading the technology stack, moving from legacy technologies to C#, .NET Core, React and Angular.

Role Overview

We are seeking  a Senior Software Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in modernising our Organise solution. As part of a collaborative development team, you will maintain and enhance the existing platform while contributing to its migration to cutting-edge technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the existing C# codebase and web applications, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Work with SQL Server and PostgreSQL to create, optimise, and manage complex Stored Procedures and Functions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, QA, and DevOps, to ensure the successful delivery of project goals.
• Support the migration of legacy systems to a modern C#, .NET Core technology stack.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software issues promptly.

Essential Skills and Experience

• A minimum of 5 years’ commercial development experience using .Net
• Expertise in PostgreSQL or SQL Server, including the development and maintenance of complex Stored Procedures and Functions.
• Experience working with modern JS libraries and web applications e.g Angular or React
• Azure DevOps.
• A solid understanding of software development principles and best practices.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Experience working with Winforms (MSIX) Desktop Applications
• Experience with Azure cloud technologies.
• Previous involvement in large-scale software migrations or transformations.
• Mobile development experience
