About the role:
As a senior platform engineer in Civica’s Core Infrastructure team, you will focus on building and evolving the tools that power the software development lifecycle across the organisation. From CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks to devbox provisioning and developer experience tooling, you’ll be at the heart of how Civica engineers build, test, and deliver software. You’ll work closely with both platform and application teams to design scalable, reliable, and user-friendly systems that streamline day-to-day development workflows. In this role, you’ll also act as a mentor and technical leader, helping to shape engineering standards and ensure our SDLC tooling remains modern, efficient, and secure.
What you will be doing:
Working on our developer platform, which enables developers to rapidly develop and iterate on our software and services
Collaborate with Civica’s platform engineering engineers, providing them with developers’ feedback, to help rapidly develop and iterate on our software and services.
Helping teams to improve older tech stacks & platforms utilising modern approaches
Acting as a subject matter expert for other colleagues
Actively influencing company-wide architecture
Proactively developing best practices within the platform community
Mentoring other platform engineers
We’d like you to have experience with:
