We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President - Management Reporting

In this role, you will: 

  • The key responsibilities include end-to-end support for Opco reporting, Business finance reporting, FRP/ Forecasting processes, Cost reporting and provide support on stress testing. The role holder will require to review & implement thought driven ideas to bring process improvements and support the business partners in enhanced analysis. Also, support solution design and working with various business stakeholders to ensure these meet their future needs further to manage the overall stakeholder expectations, complexity of the process and engagement levels in relation to areas of query management / exception handling.
  • Analysing, investigating, and explaining key movements and trends in major P&L lines. Collaborate and coordinate with GBs to understand the drivers behind variances between Forecast/ Actuals to Target.
  • Responsible for preparation and review of average balance sheets: review of average balance sheets includes identifying trends and understanding reasons behind significant movements, contribute to the delivery of FRP/Forecasting.
  • Drive reporting improvements and incorporating feedback from stakeholders, business reviews, process changes from transformation initiatives that impact business reporting from time to time.
  • Review Business/Function Framework changes, related UAT and ensuring implementation. Responsible for ensuring the data integrity in MI Actuals via establishment of effective control procedure.
  • Responsible for ensuring operational efficiency and improved productivity, utilizing where possible, process improvement methodologies. 
  • Provide SME support ensuring smooth service delivery of monthly Opco reporting, cost & FTE reports, forecast submissions, ownership of MKTY allocations in plan scenarios, reconciliations and analytical review packs. Further, undertake Actuals vs. Forecast analysis and end to end ownership of data, reporting and analysis and value adding commentaries.
  • Engage with SCM team on cost reporting which will include preparation, review and presentation of analytical insights for stake-holders; continuously ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of actuals, forecast, FRP submissions – for Direct costs, FTEs, Intercompany & Charges to the Business; display robust understanding of the key drivers for costs and recharges including cost capture and allocation mechanisms; ensuring robust controls over data quality and driving efficiencies in the data submissions and reporting processes.
  • Strategic planning and forecasting (SP&ST) include extending SME support and reviews for provision of financial data and analysis to support and participate in business decision making. Delivering SP&ST cycle for Group Targets, Finance and Resource Planning (FRP), Forecasting, Budgeting and RoTE (Return on Tangible Equity) for HSBC group.
  • End to End ownership of critical quarterly deliveries like, Management View of Income, Earning Release commentary and Assurance and Validation Pack including analysis and writing value adding commentaries.

To be successful you will:

  • Qualified Accountant (CA, CWA, MBA, PG Commerce, Graduate Commerce) with 8+ post qualification experience in Financial and Management Reporting
  • Any Science/Arts graduates with relevant experience in Financial Planning & Analysis processes with strong working knowledge of reporting and automation tools i.e., Qlik, Python, Tableau, VBA, SQL
  • Strong working knowledge of Financial Systems or Data Consolidation model/s is key (e.g., Omnia, TM1, HUB, FTP, and other similar systems) – Preferred.
  • Experience in Data mining, analysis, Financial Statements, Audit/Controls
  • Commercial acumen – Good knowledge of Banking Business drivers, P&L and Balance Sheet
  • Ability to plan, lead and implement change to Business Frameworks
  • Prior experience in fields like cost, stress testing, forecasting processes, financial and management reporting.
  • Understanding of and interest in how latest & future technology can be leveraged to improve reporting processes and controls.
  • Ability to effectively manage the competing views and opinions of multiple senior stakeholders and ensure timely delivery.
