Following the recently announced strategic growth investment in Redgate [by Bregal Sagemount], we are creating our first Head of Corporate Development role.

This is an opportunity to own the M&A lifecycle—from origination to financial modeling, diligence management, transaction execution, and integration planning. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical rigor and excellent relationship-building skills. This role is ideal for someone who is energised by creating something new, shaping strategy, and turning ideas into tangible commercial outcomes.

You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing acquisition opportunities that strengthen our product portfolio, expand our market presence, and create long term value for our customers, our people, and our investors.

You’ll lead a small team, working closely with our Executive Team and across our business to bring clarity, strategic rigour, and execution excellence to every stage of the deal lifecycle.

Achieving work-life balance has never been more important and so Redgate has adopted a flexible-hybrid model. For this role, we are open to candidates who are near our offices in Cambridge (UK) Austin (Texas) Pasadena (California) or remotely in the US.

This role will involve regular travel to meet with colleagues, partners, and potential acquisition targets, primarily in the US and UK

What you’ll be doing

  • Shaping and owning Redgate’s corporate development and M&A strategy

  • Building and managing a pipeline of potential acquisition opportunities

  • Leading end-to-end deal execution, including valuation, diligence, and transaction delivery

  • Working with internal teams and external advisers to assess strategic, financial, product, and cultural fit

  • Supporting post acquisition integration so new teams and products can thrive at Redgate

  • Acting as a trusted partner to senior leaders on market trends and growth opportunities

What you bring to the table

  • 5–8 years of investment banking experience (M&A , technology or related coverage), and/or 3+ years of private equity or similar corporate development experience focused on acquisitions and due diligence.

  • Strong command of financial modelling, valuation, deal structuring, and transaction execution.

  • Experience working with or evaluating software businesses.

  • Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional workstreams and manage multiple concurrent transactions.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills; confident engaging founders, executives, and advisors.

  • Ability to influence without authority and build trusted relationships at all levels.

  • Experience in post‑merger integration planning and execution.

  • High degree of autonomy, judgement, and comfort with ambiguity.

Who you are

  • Collaborative, approachable, and skilled at working cross‑functionally.

  • A self‑starter who thrives in creating structure where none exists.

  • Analytical and data‑led but equally comfortable considering people, culture, and values.

  • Someone who enjoys bringing others along the journey and building shared understanding.

  • Pragmatic, commercially minded, and committed to delivering sustainable, long‑term impact.

What does success look like in 12 months?

  • A robust acquisition pipeline built and actively progressing through stages.

  • Completion of one or more strategic acquisitions.

  • Strong process efficiency and internal alignment with Company leadership.

  • Strong relationships established with colleagues, founders, bankers, brokers, and industry partners.

  • Clear integration framework in place to support future acquisitions.

Salary:

  • £100,000 - £125,000 with OTE of £200,000 - £250,000 (based on a 50/ 50 split)
