Role Purpose |
The Data Architecture team plays a pivotal role in setting the strategic technical direction of Virgin Media O2 data platforms, services, and end to end delivery. Exploitation of data is key for both the business and technology strategies.
As part of delivering our company wide Data strategy, we are looking for a Data Architect to work on defining and implementing the target data architecture, ensuring it aligns with business objectives and supports the migration to our cloud-based data platform. This is a key role within the wider Data Management function in Virgin Media O2 and is pivotal to delivering our Cloud vision.

Key Accountabilities and Deliverables |

1 |
Develop and maintain a formal description of data and data structures, including data definitions, data models, metadata management, and data integration. |

Design conceptual and logical data models, defining architectural frameworks, high-level operating models, and governance frameworks for data management. |
3 |
Collaborate with data professionals, engineers, business, and operations experts to understand and address data needs. |
4 |
Serve as a subject matter expert for modelling standards, guidelines, best practices, and approved modelling techniques. |
5 |
Participate in due diligence of new software purchases. |
6 |
Serve on the Data Architecture Review Board as required. |
7 |
Maintain relationships with data users to understand requirements and translate them into underlying data structures. |

Define the data architecture to meet business needs, ensuring efficient, flexible, and sustainable data access. |
