amount of data about how people use the site, and what this means to our


customers.

collaborative, high-performing group of engineers that uses this data to build the


infrastructure that powers the UK’s favourite property site.


In this role, you will work on the systems and infrastructure that ingest, process,


and serve data across Rightmove. This is a hands-on engineering role, where you


will be responsible for the infrastructure, tooling, and best practices that power


our

data

ecosystem,

including

data

ingestion,

orchestration,

storage,

and


developer experience for data producers and consumers.


You will work with a modern GCP based data platform, designing reusable


patterns and tools, writing robust Python and SQL, and deploying infrastructure


with Terraform to ensure our platform and is reliable, secure, and efficient.

  What You’ll Be Doing  
  • Design and build data platform infrastructure and internal tooling to
  • enable teams to work more effectively with data
  • Build and improve reusable batch and real-time data ingestion and processing frameworks that ingest, transform, and serve data across the business
  • Manage infrastructure and code deployment with Terraform 
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Optimise performance, scalability, and cost efficiency of our data platform
  • Promote and practice excellent data and cloud engineering best practices, including testing, documentation, and observability
  • Work on complex data challenges, balancing short-term delivery with long-term platform evolution
  • Collaborate with data product owners and stakeholders to collect and refine data requirements
  • Work with engineers, data scientists and analytics teams to enable self-service data workflows and support their use cases

We're Looking For Someone Who

  • Has 3-5 years of proven experience in data engineering or data platform engineering within a large-scale, cloud-based data platform
  • Has strong Python and SQL programming skills
  • Has demonstrable experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS or Azure), and managing infrastructure using Terraform
  • Has experience building and orchestrating production-grade data pipelines (ingress/egress)
  • Understands data storage and data modelling principles and best practices (e.g., dbt)
  • Has experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines for data and infrastructure
  • Has experience implementing testing, monitoring, and alerting
  • Has knowledge of GDPR and data security best practices
  • Communicates well and is comfortable leading and contributing to design decisions and technical discussions
  • Is curious, proactive, and enjoys learning about new technologies
  • Enjoys collaborating in cross-functional teams
