The Incident Response Lead is a crucial position within our Cyber Defence team, responsible for ensuring that our incident response operations are executed with excellence and precision. This role requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity threats, a proactive mindset, and an ability to communicate complex technical issues to a non-technical audience. |

Key responsibilities & accountabilities |

· |
Oversee the performance of incident response, ensuring consistent and high-quality outputs. |
|
· |
Develop, design, and ensure compliance with the team’s strategic vision, emphasizing continuous improvement. |
|
· |
Provide thought leadership within the Cyber Defence Leadership on incident response methodologies and best practices. |
|
· |
Lead cybersecurity incidents from identification to resolution, ensuring every threat is appropriately investigated, contained, and remediated. |
|
· |
Coordinate with the Security Monitoring and Cyber Threat Intelligence leads to gain insights on attack avenues and inform Cyber Threat Intelligence and CISO teams of strategies for minimizing attack surfaces. |
|
· |
Translate technical cybersecurity incidents into easily digestible reports, presentations, or updates suitable for executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders. |
|
· |
Act as the primary point of contact for high-impact incidents, delivering timely and clear updates to the Executive Committee and other critical stakeholders. |
|
· |
Maintain a deep understanding of the latest cyber threats, attacker methodologies, and trends as well as how to spot and stop them. |
|
· |
Foster a culture of learning and development within the team, ensuring that the team stays ahead of potential threats. |
|
Essential skills, knowledge, or experience (Inc. professional or technical qualifications) |

· |
Extensive experience in cybersecurity incident response or a related field. |
|
· |
Proven ability to lead teams effectively and drive high performance. |
|
· |
Strong understanding of the attacker mentality and methods. |
|
· |
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex topics to a non-technical audience. |
