Purpose of the role

Location- Chennai

Business Performance and Financials: The role holder will operate as a business partner for costs, providing monthly analysis and insights to Finance Sustain & Group External Communications  (FS &GEC)  members and their directs. Furthermore, the role holder will support in managing relationships with Global teams and other stakeholders to provide insight and a view of cost efficiency plans by delivering essential management information on the function’s cost performance as well as projections for the monthly forecast and annual planning cycles. This includes support in aligning headcount plans to the future organizational shape and impact of the strategic change agenda, and coordination of acceptance, review, and challenge of intercompany recharges from other group entities. Effectively manage key relationships with senior stakeholders, including FS&GEC  members, COOs (Chief Operating Office), CAO (Chief Administration Office) and others.

Head Count Management: The role holder will be responsible for workforce plans and all aspects of their execution for respective FS&GEC OpCo area. This includes but is not limited to maintaining relevant trackers, regularly updating headcount plans, running set and ad-hoc MI, maintaining data quality across open positions, hiring queues, global roles, organizational charts, headcount linkage to costs and other aspects of headcount management. The role holder is expected to build relationships with key stakeholders within and outside FS&GEC to help influence outcomes, collaborate across and outside the FS&GEC function to ensure an effective operating model is fostered, aka ownership and delivers outcomes in a manner that considers impact to key stakeholders.

In this role, you will:

  • Delivering essential management information on the function’s cost performance as well as projections for the monthly forecast and annual planning cycles. Includes monthly Actuals reporting and month-end readiness activities such as accruals and invoice management, professional fees monitoring and adjustment journal preparation.
  • Aligning headcount plans to the future organisational shape and impact of the strategic change agenda. This includes headcount/roles monitoring and reporting in support of the regional/functional COO team’s oversight on capacity management and efficiency saves.
  • Supporting the regional/functional COO in providing management information and data analysis on the function’s cost base, including key statistical data metrics on headcount movements, open positions, diversity, span of control and snapshot survey actions amongst others. This also relates to support for governance and MI packs as required for COO, Finance Partner for FS&GEC and CFO committees as required.
  • Ownership of the implementation of the agreed and optimized cost management structure, including but not limited to cost center management and systems’ structures, and ownership of corrections to OSPD structures and cost re-classifications, if any
  • Continuously look at ways to simplify the forecast, budgeting and FRP processes that help facilitate a more efficient Group forecasting process.
  • Identification of process improvements and measurable efficiencies through centralization and standardisation of processes.
  • Ownership of regular reporting, delivery service or recharging tasks that are required to ensure expected operations continue as expected.
  • Engage with stakeholders through fact-based conversations, building strong relationships and providing challenge, where appropriate.
  • Furthermore, there is a global network of functional/regional COOs who will form a virtual team to support change and provide guidance and best practice internally.  Role holder will analyse and review processes, identifying automation and simplification opportunities and drive continuous improvement agenda. Role holder will have end to end process ownership of COO COE (Centre of Excellence) activities for assigned OpCo areas

To be successful you will:

  • Experience of 12-18 yrs with excellent level of financial management and business analysis experience requiring strong technical and commercial understanding of what drives the numbers reported. Experience in Financial Planning and Analysis, Budgeting, forecasting.
  • Proven relationship management and team engagement skills, with the ability to deal with all senior/junior levels within a global organisation.
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal), planning and organisation skills.
  • An inquisitive mind who is not afraid to challenge the status quo, continuously looking at ways to improve processes and reduce duplications
  • Qualified Accountant is desirable (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA)
  • Experience of running an annual planning process would be an advantage.
  • Experience in cost management and analytics would be an advantage.
  • Excellent systems skills (including use of TM1, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
