As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Corporate Cloud Foundational Services Team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. In this role you are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience don’t add or change years of experience per compliance.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies and platforms, including microservices, containers, IaaS, storage, security, and identity management on AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Demonstrable skills in rapid prototyping and methods to shorten development cycles for platforms, software, and AI/ML products.
- Experience in any one of the IaC - Terraform, Cloud formation or Azure resource manager,
- Experience in anyone of the languages - Python/Java/Golang, DevOps (CI/CD, Agentic Development), Container Orchestration (EKS, ECS), Serverless technologies, databases (RDBMS, NO-SQL), Cloud Monitoring tools
- Experience in understanding of LLM, Agentic AI, A2A, MCP and others.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Passion for technology and innovation, can do attitude with a commitment to driving positive change within the organization.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in Pulumi, OpenTofu and any other IaC platforms
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Developer, TFE Associate Certification, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, Google Developer Certification, Azure Developer Certification or similar.
- Understanding of financial services industry trends, open source in finance, regulatory requirements, and the competitive landscape.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Masters is not required for this level role.
