The Role

 

As an Account Director at Envitia, you’ll play a pivotal role in securing our position on major UK defence programmes. You’ll lead business development efforts that shape and win work in support of the Ministry of Defence’s (MOD) digital transformation agenda.

 

This is a forward-leaning, campaign-driven role that demands early and proactive engagement with the MOD, prime contractors, and delivery partners. You’ll influence programme direction, identify emerging customer needs, and align Envitia’s advanced data and software capabilities to deliver impact across critical defence projects.

 

Job Responsibilities 

 

As Account Director, you’ll take the lead in driving Envitia’s growth across major UK defence programmes through proactive engagement, strategic capture, and partnership development. In this role, you will:

 

  • Lead strategic capture campaigns — identify, prioritise, and win high-value, multi-year MOD programmes each year.
  • Engage early with customers and partners — build trusted relationships with MOD stakeholders and prime contractors, to shape programme direction and technical requirements.
  • Secure strategic workshare — position Envitia within key delivery consortia by negotiating teaming agreements and subcontracting arrangements with Tier 1 partners.
  • Own the full capture lifecycle — manage opportunities from early shaping and intelligence gathering through solution development, proposal leadership, and commercial negotiation.
  • Build strategic partnerships — develop and strengthen executive-level relationships with leading Defence prime organisations.
  • Develop compelling value propositions — tailor Envitia’s geospatial, data, AI/ML, and digital transformation capabilities to address the specific needs of MOD programmes.
  • Collaborate across teams — work closely with technical, delivery, and consulting colleagues to create winning strategies, support pre-sales efforts, and ensure a smooth transition from sales to delivery.
  • Maintain capture discipline — apply structured, transparent capture planning methods to ensure effective governance, clear reporting, and leadership alignment at every stage.

 

Required Skills and Experience

 

We’re looking for an Account Director with a strong background in Defence and a proven ability to win strategic programmes. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of commercial acumen, technical understanding, and relationship-building expertise.

 

Experience & Expertise

 

  • Proven Defence Track Record – demonstrable success in capturing and winning work on major MOD strategic programmes.
  • Defence Procurement Knowledge – deep understanding of defence procurement frameworks, commercial models, and how to navigate them effectively on behalf of SMEs.
  • Prime Contractor Engagement – experience working within or alongside major defence primes and systems integrators.
  • Senior-Level Influence – ability to engage, influence, and build trust with senior MOD and industry stakeholders.
  • Strategic Thinking – forward-looking approach to identifying and capturing new business opportunities, supported by strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional Communication – excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive executive-level content and presentations.
  • Technical Literacy – confidence in understanding and articulating complex technical concepts, particularly around data, digital transformation, or AI/ML solutions.
  • Customer-Focused – committed to understanding client challenges and aligning Envitia’s solutions to meet them.

 

Security Clearance Requirements

 

The successful candidate must hold or be required to go through an SC security clearance, DV eligibility preferred.



Location

 

The role will require travel to our Horsham offices 2 days a month and travel to customer sites when required.
