How will you make an impact in this role?
As an Associate, Technology Operations Engineering, you will be essential in providing enterprise services to ensure high levels of product availability for the customers and partners of American Express. Key responsibilities may include:
- Support in monitoring the performance and availability of technology systems and applications, and performs routine maintenance tasks including system updates and backups with guidance from peers & leaders
- Respond to service requests and incidents and provide technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues
- Complete the onboarding of new domains with guidance from peers and leaders
- Complete the management and maintenance of network infrastructure with guidance from peers and leaders
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues and supports the implementation of network security measures
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps, and generates reports on system performance, incidents, and resolutions
- Complete operational policies and procedures for new technologies, with guidance from peers and leaders
- Collaborate and co-create effectively with teams in product and the business to align technology initiatives with business objectives
- Implement resiliency standards, tooling, and best practices
- Review incident trends and conduct root cause analysis to implement permanent resolutions and mitigate future failures
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and/or comparable experience. 2+ years of varied experience in software engineering or service delivery.
- Knowledge of network protocols and technologies
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation tasks
- Experience in cloud administration, IT asset management and automation tools and / or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) in a technology or financial services organization
- Experience in system administration, network configuration, and troubleshooting
- Experience in technology operations work on a wide range of applications.
- Experience in managing and troubleshooting technology infrastructure and services, including servers, networks, and cloud services
- Experience in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Soft skills – analytical thinking, curiosity, continuous learning and improvement attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ is a plus
- Public Cloud certification is a plus
- DevOps knowledge for highly available IT infrastructure.
- Experience in designing and coding for automation and troubleshooting purposes across multiple platforms and languages such as Java, HTML5, JavaScript, and .NET
- Building live production APIs and services.
- Hands-on expertise with application design, software development and automated testing.
- Experience with relevant business domain related functions.
