Job Title: SAP BASIS Practitioner

What you’ll be doing:
Installing, configuring and maintaining SAP systems
Performing system upgrades and patches (ABAP / JAVA, HANADB, Kernel etc.)
You will be helping to provide technical support for SAP systems
Monitoring and optimising system performance, whilst maintaining high availability
You will be creating and maintaining technical documents and procedures/runbooks
Collaborating with other teams to design, implement and manage SAP systems
Participating in the development of roadmaps, maintenance, testing and contingency plans for software, hardware and assets affecting SAP
Providing proactive support, through effective capacity planning and change management
Skills and experiences:
Essential:
Experience in SAP S/4 HANA Basis Administration in complex (e.g. regulated) medium to large organisations
A good understanding of the architecture of resilient applications
Experience in support of Category zero applications
Environment/client build and refresh experience
Desirable
Knowledge of newer SAP technologies e.g. Cloud, BTP
Knowledge of UNIX/SUSE OS
Automation tooling, Archiving & DVM understanding

By joining us in the team, you will have a fantastic opportunity to support the BASIS elements of the SAP S/4 HANA ERP installation at BAE Systems Submarines in a team of five currently and serving 13,000+ users across nine major functional modules. You will have the chance to work with some of the latest and most advanced tools whilst supporting some of our most key stakeholders and services. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
