Director, Product Management - Wireless

Role Overview

As Director, Product Management in the RUCKUS wireless team, you will play a pivotal role in driving wireless innovation and execution across the access point portfolio. This role serves as the product leadership hub for low‑level AP software, firmware, and cross‑platform wireless features, working closely with global engineering and product teams.

Based in Bangalore, this leader will own product management for AP firmware, low‑level wireless features, and the software–hardware integration layers, while also acting as a wireless technology subject matter expert across the broader RUCKUS product ecosystem spanning APs, controllers, cloud, edge, and AI-driven platforms.
The role influences wireless capabilities that are leveraged across multiple product lines and geographies.

This position requires strong technical depth, cross‑functional leadership, and the ability to translate wireless technologies into scalable, enterprise‑grade product capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Wireless Product Strategy & Ownership

• Define and execute product strategy for AP firmware and low‑level wireless features that support RUCKUS business objectives and long‑term innovation roadmaps.
• Own and evolve wireless feature roadmaps spanning the AP software stack, firmware, and hardware/software integration layers, with impact across the global access point portfolio.
• Contribute to cross‑platform wireless feature strategies used across AP, controller, cloud, edge, and AI‑driven solutions.

AP Firmware & Low‑Level Software Leadership

• Act as product owner for AP firmware and core wireless features at the lower levels of the wireless software stack.
• Lead product definition and prioritization for features at the software–hardware interface, including interactions between silicon, drivers, firmware, and system software.
• Ensure features are architected for performance, scale, reliability, and global enterprise deployment.

Cross-Functional & Engineering Interface

• Serve as a primary product management interface with internal access point engineering teams, driving clarity on requirements, prioritization, and execution.
• Collaborate across geographies with engineering teams supporting AP, controller, cloud, and edge platforms to deliver consistent, cross-platform wireless capabilities.
• Provide clear, actionable product guidance, balancing innovation, feasibility, and delivery commitments.

Ecosystem & Platform Partner Engagement

• Act as the product management point of contact for wireless chipset and platform ecosystem engagements.
• Drive roadmap alignment and feature enablement discussions that influence future wireless platforms.
• Advocate for capabilities that enhance global portfolio differentiation and long‑term scalability.

Wireless Innovation & Technology Leadership

• Serve as the wireless technology SME for cross‑functional product management and engineering teams worldwide.
• Lead wireless feature ideation, technical evaluation, and delivery across standards‑based and advanced wireless capabilities.
• Support innovation initiatives that contribute to portfolio-wide differentiation and future wireless readiness.

Product Development & Execution

• Lead the product development lifecycle for assigned wireless features, including requirements definition, prioritization, and milestone execution.
• Ensure alignment across engineering, QA, operations, and support organizations for high‑quality delivery.
• Maintain strong standards for product quality, interoperability, usability, and customer experience.

Launch, Adoption & Performance

• Support global product launches through technical positioning, feature readiness, and enablement content.
• Monitor feature adoption and product performance using data‑driven metrics and customer feedback.
• Drive continuous improvement through enhancements and optimizations across releases.

Stakeholder Communication & Leadership

• Communicate roadmaps, priorities, risks, and progress to senior leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Act as a technical and product mentor to product managers and technical contributors.
• Represent product management perspectives in strategic and technical forums with global impact.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field (MBA preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in product management or technical product leadership roles in networking, wireless, or systems software.
• Strong understanding of wireless networking technologies, access point architectures, and Wi‑Fi standards.
• Proven experience working closely with engineering teams on low‑level software, firmware, or SW/HW interfaces.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross‑functional initiatives across geographies.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, highly technical environment.

Highly Desired Skills

• Experience with Wi‑Fi access point products or wireless infrastructure.
• Exposure to chipset-based platform development or system-level integrations.
• Experience delivering enterprise-grade networking solutions.
• Ability to translate deep technical discussions into clear product trade‑offs and decisions.
