Azure Engineer

Planet Technologies, the Nation’s leading Microsoft services provider to the public sector, is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our growing team as an Azure Engineer. In this role, you will be supporting impactful projects that benefit our country.

 

Successful candidates must possess knowledge and experience in designing, migrating, and implementing complex solutions as well as experience with migrations inclusive of a hybrid of public cloud and private cloud environments. This position will be customer-facing and consist of a variety of delivery of business transformation technology projects. All candidates should be well versed with Azure Infrastructure, managing Active Directory, and PowerShell as it relates to AD, Azure, and Office 365.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for setting up multiple Azure environments
• Working with Federal customers in the DC Metro area on their requirements, understanding their current environment, and performing gap analysis.
• Testing and supporting a pilot of the services.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert to both advise senior leadership, as well as provide a leadership role to the technical staff.
• Producing well written, technical detailed articles (documents) that are tailored specifically to the customer’s environment, objectives and requirements.
• The Cloud Engineer must be able to speak clearly and communicate effectively (both written and verbally) with the customer’s technical staff as well as management team. Prior experience in supporting one or more cloud infrastructures is essential.  

Skills Required

• Candidates should already possess a current Microsoft Certification or be able to show proof of working towards obtaining one in the near future.
• Candidates should have at least 2 or more years of experience supporting similar projects.
• Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to communicate efficiently and effectively. This includes both verbally as well as written communications with particular emphasis on being able to produce well written technical documentation.
• Candidates must be able to work well with clients and team members of all levels.
