Required Qualifications
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• An accomplished hands-on developer with a minimum of 10-12 years of relevant work experience with Java, web services, web applications and developing enterprise-grade platforms
• 4+ years of experience with managing AWS infrastructure and related DevOps tools (Concourse, Docker, etc)
• Experienced in the design of large Internet-scale applications and platforms
• Good team player and experience in working with offshore teams
• Knowledgeable in observability, performance tuning, and capacity management
• Knowledge of Agile Secure Software Development Life Cycle
• Experience with REST services, Spring-boot, web development, and AWS
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Strong organizational skills and an attention to detail
• Strong sense of ownership and responsibility for code quality that follows best practice
• Authorized to work in the United States of America
Core Responsibilities
• Responsible for overall architecture and implementation of MDU platform, web portal, and other tools used for MDU products
• Responsible for managing AWS infrastructure and security compliance
• Serve as primary solution/architecture point of contact between engineering and other business and technology stakeholders.
• Work with product owners and the enterprise architecture team in other functional areas to ensure that the most efficient solution is delivered, flesh out solution details, and provide design documentation for the team to implement
• Ensures solutions are well-engineered, operable, maintainable, and delivered on schedule.
• Lead the secured design aspects of proposed solutions and get approval from the required security processes
• Understand the business domain, product functionality in detail, update and deploy changes in the existing codebase as needed
• Participate in planning, design, development, and deployment of platform software and web applications, including new programs, enhancements, and modifications.
• Participate in the quarterly planning process, understand the scope of epics and set expectations with Product, and derive LOEs for Epics
• Embrace & embody agile culture by participating in all steps of agile development, including sprint planning, grooming, retros, backlog grooming, breaking Epics into User Stories, and sizing exercises.
• Lead operational excellence and drive brainstorming solution design sessions and problem-solving with the team. Engage and lead the team through outage triages, communicate updates to stakeholders and leadership as needed
• Champion engineering excellence and Mentor junior team members in relevant technologies
