Purpose of Role

This role will play a pivotal role in architecting the target solution landscape for corporate solutions which support HR, Finance and other head office functions.  The target landscape is expected to deliver transformative change, value driven business solutions and organisational efficiency improvements. 

The role reports into the Back Office Senior Technical Manager but will work very closely with the Enterprise Architect to ensure that architectural principles and organisational strategy are adhered to.

This position requires a strong technical background, coupled with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.  The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with various stakeholders across the Business, IT function and third parties to deliver high-quality, scalable, secure and cost-effective solutions.

Responsibilities

·       Lead the solution design for a wide range of technologies and platforms to deliver business requirements that align with our overall enterprise architecture and business goals.

·       Collaborate with IT delivery project team members, the wider IT team and business stakeholders to develop functional and non-functional requirements.

·       Provide architectural guidance to ensure that solutions are designed to be scalable, maintainable, and secure.

·       Ensure designs align with Enterprise Architecture strategies, roadmaps & general approaches are agreed within the MAG Architecture Review Board.

·       Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and tools to implement solutions that support the organisational target operating model.

·       Contribute to the development of the Enterprise architecture principles, governance and best practice recommendations.

·       Participate and contribute to project team forums and delivery plans ensuring that deliverables meet quality standards and adhere to best practices.

·       Create and maintain detailed architectural documentation.

·       Stay up to date with the latest technology trends and drive innovation within the organization.

·       Produce high level solution designs which meet business objectives and requirements for specific projects

·       Support in the production of low-level solutions designs on specific projects, and review designs produced by McArthurGlen’s partners, ensuring alignment to policies, standards & strategies.

Requirements

·       Proven ability to design and develop innovative solutions, considering factors such as scalability, performance, and security.

·       Experience in evaluating and selecting appropriate technologies and tools to meet business needs.

·       Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with & build consensus with senior stakeholders, product owners, business analysts, and development teams.

·       Commitment to delivering high-quality solutions and adhering to industry best practices.

·       Strong documentation skills to create and maintain clear and concise architectural documentation.

·       Passion for emerging technologies and a drive to continuously improve processes and solutions.

·       Ability to align technical solutions with broader business objectives and anticipate future trends.

·       Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues and make sound decisions under pressure.

·       A customer-centric approach, focusing on delivering solutions that meet the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.

·       Demonstrated experience with business process and technology modelling

·       Experience building technical architectures and designs

·       Experience designing, integrating, and managing complex solutions spanning multiple domains, including security, networking and infrastructure

·       Experience in API design and use including large scale, close-to-real-time services using integration tools like Azure Integration Services

·       Appreciation of data modelling, reporting and data warehouse best practices

·       Experience or appreciation of Enterprise solutions like Workday (FO and HCM) or MRI.

·       Experience or appreciation of property management solutions covering software and hardware installations over multiple sites and regions would be beneficial.

·       Must be comfortable with ambiguity

·       Can multitask between different projects, domains and methodologies
