Job Summary
Responsible for assisting with the administration, maintenance, and optimization of business intelligence platforms, including Tableau and Power BI. This entry-level role is ideal for someone with foundational knowledge of data visualization tools who wants to grow into a BI platform specialist. The administrator will work closely with analysts, data engineers, and business teams to ensure high performance, security, and usability of Tableau and Power BI environments.
Job Description
This Engineer 1 role is based in our Englewood, CO office. Preference for candidates currently residing in that area.

Core Responsibilities
- Assist in managing and maintaining Tableau Server/Tableau Cloud environments.
- Support administration of Power BI Workspaces, Gateways, and Service settings.
- Monitor data refreshes, extracts, and automated report jobs.
- Troubleshoot environment issues such as failed refreshes, slow dashboards, or access problems.
- Manage user accounts, groups, roles, and permissions for both BI platforms.
- Maintain governance and security standards to ensure proper data access and compliance.
- Support onboarding and basic training for new users.
- Provide user support and resolve BI tool-related issues across the organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business reporting needs.
- Contribute to knowledge base articles, training materials, and process documentation.
- Perform other BI platform administration tasks as needed.
- Reviews, writes and edits codes. Conducts analysis to determine integration needs.
- Monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products. Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
- Applies full use and application of engineering methodologies related to area of engineering specialty.
- Displays knowledge of engineering concepts and skills and knowledge of their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
- Displays knowledge of and ability to apply, process design and redesign skills.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Required skills:
- Familiarity with Tableau Desktop/Server or Power BI Desktop/Service.
- Understanding of SQL and relational databases.
- Basic knowledge of data visualization concepts and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
Preferred Experience:
- Exposure to ETL tools or data preparation (Tableau Prep, Power Query, etc.).
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
- Basic scripting knowledge (Python, PowerShell).
- Understanding of BI governance and security roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field, or equivalent experience

Salary:
Primary Location Pay Range: $82,581.08 - $123,871.61
