Summary

While you will have heard our name, there is a lot you probably do not know about NEXT. We create most of our systems ourselves - from our website and mobile apps to our complex internal applications. We are growing quickly, and this level of investment offers an inspiring environment for everyone in our business.

As a multi-billion pound business, it is essential that our financial systems are robust and efficient. Our Finance Technology team manages these systems almost entirely in-house, ensuring we can report accurate data to make key business decisions.

The Role

You will work with the Business As Usual team across a multitude of business-critical systems. Your primary focus is ensuring the business can perform day-to-day tasks efficiently and accurately. This role offers exposure to new technologies and the opportunity to provide our Finance teams with an elevated level of service. Like any large-scale operation, we have some legacy applications and older code languages, but we welcome the challenge to improve them.

What You'll Take On

  • System Enhancement: Provide the analysis and development skills needed to create and improve our applications.
  • Process Improvement: Use your expertise to help us refine our quality and working practices, enabling the team to become as effective as possible.
  • Operational Support: Have the opportunity to opt into a rota for out-of-hours call-out support.
  • Boundary Pushing: Help us move beyond our current limits by finding ways to reinvent processes and products.

What You’ll Bring

We are looking for a knowledgeable team member who communicates with purpose and respect. You should be a subject matter expert in the following:

  • Core Tech: C# and .NET framework.
  • Cloud Components: Experience with Azure (Data Factory, Functions, ServiceBus, and Blob Storage).
  • Architecture: A solid understanding of design practices, system architecture, RESTful APIs, and microservices best practices.
  • Databases: Knowledge of Relational databases, specifically MS-SQL.
  • Front-End & DevOps: Familiarity with front-end technologies like the Blazor framework, alongside an understanding of CI/CD tools.
  • Agile Mindset: Experience working in Agile environments using Scrum methodologies.
