As a Senior Product Associate in Internal API Platforms, you contribute to the team by leveraging your expertise in product development and optimization to make a significant impact, supported by user research and customer feedback to fuel the creation of innovative products and continuously improve existing offerings. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and play a crucial role in shaping the future of our products and ongoing success.

Job responsibilities

  • Translate internal customer needs into an actionable platform roadmap for API management, developer onboarding, and lifecycle governance.
  • Conduct problem discovery with engineers and product teams to identify friction, quantify impact, and prioritize high-leverage platform enhancements.
  • Define and manage user stories, acceptance criteria, and release plans for capabilities such as API onboarding, documentation, versioning, deprecation, and self-service tooling.
  • Partner with engineering to execute iterative delivery; validate outcomes via experiments, telemetry, and user feedback.
  • Drive standards for specification formats and artifacts (e.g., OpenAPI, schema reuse), and promote reusable patterns, SDKs, and templates.
  • Improve time-to-first-call with sandboxes, quickstarts, and automated guardrails (linting, contract checks).
  • Establish policies for API versioning, backward compatibility, deprecation, and access controls; ensure alignment with firmwide risk and controls, data classification, and security policies.
  • Collaborate with SRE and platform engineering on SLOs, incident reduction, and capacity planning for gateways and supporting services.
  • Instrument platform health dashboards and publish adoption and reliability metrics to stakeholders.
  • Run intake and triage, maintain transparent backlogs, and communicate roadmap, release notes, and change impacts to internal customers.
  • Facilitate cross-team alignment across lines of business to scale platform standards and accelerate adoption.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 3+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain area
  • Proficient knowledge of the product development life cycle
  • Experience in product life cycle activities including discovery and requirements definition
  • Developing knowledge of data analytics and data literacy
  • Working knowledge of API concepts and tooling: API design fundamentals (REST; awareness of GraphQL and gRPC), specification formats (OpenAPI), versioning strategies, and deprecation best practices. Familiarity with enterprise API gateways/management platforms, authN/Z patterns (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, mTLS), and traffic policies (quotas, rate limiting). Familiarity with Postman, Bruno, Splunk, Grafana, Adobe Analytics tools.
  • Demonstrated experience running Agile ceremonies, writing clear user stories and acceptance criteria, and prioritizing via data and stakeholder input.
  • Comfort with metrics and analytics: ability to define KPIs, analyze platform telemetry, and make evidence-based prioritization decisions.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills with the ability to influence without authority and translate technical details into business outcomes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with internal developer platforms (IDP), golden paths, or platform engineering in a regulated environment.
  • Exposure to CI/CD, automated testing, contract testing, and API linting tools.
  • Practical familiarity with observability stacks (metrics, logs, traces) and SLO/SLI practices.
  • Basic ability to read API specs and evaluate developer experience (DX) for onboarding flows and docs.
