The role may involve a blended hybrid working model, with a mixture of working from home and working on site at one of our Leonardo offices to ensure close collaboration with the wider team and with our customers.

Leonardo UK is seeking a Test Manager to join the Cyber & Security Solutions Division team.

What you will do as a Test Manager

• Provide line management, coaching, and support to test engineers and technicians.
• Lead the planning, scheduling, and resourcing of test activities across one or more projects.
• Oversee test execution, ensuring results are reported clearly and accurately.
• Represent testing at project boards, reviews, and customer forums.
• Own defect management processes, ensuring timely communication and resolution with stakeholders.
• Ensure test activities align with governance, quality, and secure working standards.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and professional development within the test community.
• Champion knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and standardisation of best practice.

What you’ll bring

• Demonstrable leadership and management experience within testing or systems engineering.
• Ability to balance people leadership with oversight of technical delivery.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Core areas (must have):

• Experience leading test activities and managing work packages
• Strong knowledge of test planning, execution, and reporting processes
• Familiarity with defect management and test management tools (e.g. Jira, Xray, TestRail, Zephyr)
• Understanding of integration, system, and acceptance testing in complex environments
• Awareness of cyber security and secure working requirements

Desirable:

• ISTQB Advanced Test Manager or equivalent certification
• Experience managing test delivery in Agile/SAFe programmes
• Familiarity with automation and CI/CD pipelines in the context of test management
• Experience with resource planning and multi-project delivery
• Exposure to service assurance, operational acceptance, or accreditation processes

This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
