Principal Consultant - Engineering Practice
As a Principal consultant at Daemon you will be expected to lead in the definition, design and delivery of the engagements and clients you are assigned. You will become a trusted advisor to the client and lead some of the more client centric relationship management tasks.
Being technically strong you will be required to lead on the creation of the Statement of Work (SoW). You will lead on writing the technical part of the SoW and define the scope of the project and its definition of done. In conjunction with the Head of Practice you will play a lead role in defining the commercials of the project and will be responsible for stakeholder management and reporting of delivery centred information and the engagement lifecycle.
A Principal at Daemon is truly part of the leadership team and as such will be expected to help grow the business as one of your day to day duties. You will take ownership and nurture a strong relationship with your client. You will help build the account through organic growth by seeking new opportunities by being aware of ongoing business requirements within the client. You will collaborate with Account and Sales Teams and other SMEs in Daemon to bring your technical knowledge to pre-sales, discovery and RFP efforts.
Reporting to the Head of Practice you will be a people manager with a number of direct reports and will act as a mentor to more junior staff to help and encourage them in their technology careers.
Our core set of client-centric solutions are designed to smash client’s problems and make tech work harder for them. They include:
Digital engineering
Cloud adoption, migration and optimisation, including performance engineering
Data, ML and AI enablement
We tie this all together with a little thing we call ‘delivery excellence’, backed up with performance engineering, DevOps, and design thinking. And lashings of Daemonite energy.
You’ll be a member of the Daemon Engineering Practice team, pushing to win work on exciting, challenging and rewarding projects with some famous brands. Working hand-in-glove with high-performing teammates, you’ll develop personally and professionally, surrounded by superhero consultants digging deep to deliver together.
We’re looking for a Principal Consultant with a strong background in technology, proficient in multiple languages, tools and technologies. You’ll be comfortable leading teams, as well as holding conversations with clients up to and including C-Level.
We need someone who gets a kick out of working in a fast-paced environment, potentially overseeing more than one project, and acting as technical oversight for those projects.
You’re an excellent spoken and written communicator, comfortable working with senior and C-level stakeholders. You lead by example: you’re pragmatic and productive but also creative. You’ve got the beans to motivate teams of all sizes and manage development plans for yourself and others, knowing which areas to focus on to keep things moving.
You actively shape/own a domain community, whether that’s blogging, events or webinars. You have an entrepreneurial mindset that means you look for opportunities wherever you think you can dig them up, and you take pride in leaving everything you touch better than you found it.
Our values affect everything we do – and yours will too. So we’ll need you to have integrity (of course) and be a passionate, approachable pragmatist who’s always looking for ways to shake things up.
